Welcome to the Registry’s official page. The common law, English language wills and probate service for non-Muslims in Dubai

The DIFC Wills Service Centre (the ‘Wills Service’) is a joint initiative of the Government of Dubai and the DIFC Dispute Resolution Authority that gives non-Muslims investing and living in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah the option to pass on their assets and/or appoint guardians for their children, in accordance with the instructions in their Will.

Estate planning is often deferred due to common assumptions that existing legal frameworks will automatically apply, or that it can be addressed at a later stage. However, in the absence of a clear Will, uncertainty may arise—particularly in cross-border contexts where the distribution of assets may be subject to multiple legal systems.

This can result in extended processes, additional administrative requirements, and outcomes that may not reflect an individual’s intentions.

The DIFC Courts Wills Service provides a structured legal framework, enabling individuals to clearly define the distribution of their assets, with legal certainty and recognition.

Planning in advance supports clarity, reduces complexity, and helps ensure that intended outcomes are effectively implemented.

What’s the difference between a Will and a Power of Attorney?

A Will supports future planning after death, while a Power of Attorney grants authority during life.

Understanding the purpose of each helps you prepare better for yourself and your loved ones.
