*Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day*

Menstrual Hygiene Day takes place every year on May 28 and has grown into a massive global movement over the past 10 years.

This global campaign focuses on the long-term mission to eliminate period stigma, provide accurate education and ensure universal access to affordable menstrual products and hygienic facilities.

The theme for Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 is "Together for a ".

"Together" is crucial. No one can solve the menstruation-related challenges women and girls face alone. But together, we can.

We are delighted that the merger between Sew Bee-Cause and Thrift for Good has brought our two organisations even closer together to be part of the global movement to create a .

Join us on sewing days at the hub to help make our Angel Wings Kits (reusable sanitary pad kits), shop at the Thrift for Good stores, donate your preloved clothing or volunteer your time to support our projects that provide real solutions of classrooms, toilets, menstrual education and sanitary pads for women and girls in need around the world.

Tomorrow (Thursday 23rd April), is a very exciting day, at the Thrift for Good Sustainability Hub in Al Quoz, a day dedicated to all the crafters and creatives...🐝

🐝 From 9.30 -1 there will be sewing as usual upstairs in the Green Room.

🐝 From 1pm onwards there will be the first ever Crafter's Corner running throughout the afternoon with lovely crafty items for sale at very reasonable prices.

🐝 In the evening there will be a Movie-Mending night! 🍿

These events are open to the public so please do share in your community groups and sewing circles.

March 18th marks Global Recycling Day 2026 🌍♻️ — a moment to celebrate how far we’ve come and reflect on the work still ahead.

At Sew Bee-Cause, recycling isn’t just something we support — it’s at the heart of everything we do. We’re passionate about giving new life to fabrics that might otherwise end up in landfill, turning them into something meaningful and purposeful.

Today, we were proud to work with Thrift for Good for a special initiative — transforming recycled towels into hygiene kits for local labour workers. A simple idea, making a real difference.

Today on International Women’s Day, the 2026 theme “Give to Gain” reminds us that when we invest in women’s rights and wellbeing, everyone benefits.

That includes menstrual equity. Millions of women and girls still face period poverty, lacking access to basic products, safe sanitation, and education. A natural part of life should never hold anyone back from school, work, or opportunity.

Supporting menstrual health through our Angel Wings©️(reusable sanitary pads) Kits and delivering our Menstrual Health and Hygiene education courses, is one small way we can give dignity, access and equality — and gain a more inclusive world.

We thank the women who make our Angel Wings©️ Kits with us, who give their time and skills in order to see less fortunate women gain menstrual dignity in this world.

We had a fabulous time sewing at the Thrift for Good hub this morning.
And a very productive day it was too!

We completed an amazing total of 244 items 👏🏻
- 168 Loofah bags
- 38 Face cloths
- 38 Hygiene bags

We are very happy to support our partners at Thrift for Good and be a part of the fabulous work that they do.

4 Crocheted toys

Another amazing achievement by team Sew Bee-Cause and very gratefully received by Draw a Smile for Network for Palestine.

These items will be making their way to Egypt soon to help clothe some of the displaced children from Palestine and Sudan.

It’s heartwarming to be able to contribute to this wonderful organisation, huge thanks to all involved.
