We are sharing a brief snapshot of mandatory reporting requirements under the American Samoa Code Annotated (Title 45, Section 20). Certain professionals and workforce members who work closely with children are legally required to report suspected child abuse or neglect. These individuals are known as mandated reporters under American Samoa law.

👥 Who should pay attention?
If you work with or around children—whether in education, healthcare, social services, law enforcement, or community programs—this information is especially important for you.

⚖️ Why it matters:
Mandated reporting helps protect children and ensures timely intervention when concerns arise. Knowing your responsibility can make a critical difference in a child’s safety and well-being.

❓ Are you a mandated reporter?
Take a moment to review your role and responsibilities under the law.
