Today, on the Global Day of Parents, we celebrate the love, sacrifice, strength, and guidance that parents provide every day.

Parents play a vital role in shaping families, communities, and future generations. Their dedication, resilience, and unwavering support help build strong foundations for children to thrive and reach their full potential.

The African Communities Council of South Australia extends its appreciation to all parents, guardians, and caregivers for the invaluable contributions they make to nurturing, supporting, and inspiring the next generation.

Happy Global Day of Parents!

Last night’s Africa Day Reception at Parliament House was a truly special evening filled with connection, culture, and meaningful conversations.

Hosted by Hon. Nadia Clancy MP and Hon. Zoe Bettison MP , the reception brought together African community leaders from across the continent, alongside government representatives, professionals, young leaders, and community members to celebrate Africa Day and the strength of our communities.
Also in attendance was Luisa Greco ,Hon Michelle Lensink and John Fulbrook MP who have continually shown great support towards multiculturalism.

As this was Hon. Nadia Clancy MP’s first Africa Day Reception since her appointment, the evening was also an opportunity to warmly congratulate her and acknowledge her support for multicultural communities. In her remarks, she spoke about the importance of unity, inclusion, and continuing to build stronger connections across communities in South Australia.

One of the standout moments of the night was hearing from Lydia Muderhwa, Young Achiever of the Year, whose speech was deeply inspiring and heartfelt-straight from her heart. Denis Yengi, Chairperson of the African Communities Council of South Australia also shared powerful words about young people, reminding everyone that the youth are not just preparing for the future, but are already shaping the present in readiness for what is ahead.

Guests were also treated to a beautiful performance by Desmond Dhad Tucker, whose music brought warmth and energy to the room.

Beyond the speeches and performances, the reception created a valuable space for networking, relationship building, and strengthening unity across African communities. It was a proud reminder of the diversity, resilience, and contribution of African communities across South Australia.

EID MUBARAK TO ALL MUSLIMS IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA

The African Communities Council of South Australia (ACCSA) extends warm Eid Ul Adha greetings to all Muslims across South Australia and around the world.

Eid Ul Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, is a time of deep reflection, gratitude, and faith. It reminds us of the values of obedience, compassion, generosity, and the importance of caring for those in need.

As families and communities come together to mark this special occasion, we acknowledge the strength, diversity, and contributions of Muslim communities across South Australia who continue to enrich our shared society.

May this blessed Eid bring peace to your home, unity to your community, and renewed hope for the days ahead.

Eid Mubarak from all of us at ACCSA.
