Hello people!
Today we would like to explain about one of our Bronze sponsor for this great event!
Biro Pelajar Luar Negara - BPLN
Based on the history of UMNO Archives, 'Kelab UMNO Luar Negara' was first discovered in 1956 in New York, USA. The purpose of setting up the Club is to unite the Malay community and the students residing there.
However, the history of the establishment of the earliest UMNO Club documented in detail was determined to be systematically active in the United Kingdom in 1968. In 1970, some UMNO Clubs were set up with the aim of uniting the Malay community as well as students who attended or served there. From here, the Overseas UMNO Clubs start to grow in other countries with the goal and purpose of being the focus of the students and the Malay community.
Following the increasing number of students and Malaysians pursuing studies or working abroad, UMNO has given the responsibility of 'Ahli Majlis Kerja Tertinggi (MKT)' to monitor it under 'Hal Ehwal Khas Pelajar Luar Negara' committee. The committee was initially chaired by Tan Sri Syed Hamid bin Syed Jaafar Albar and Tan Sri Sanusi Junid and Tan Sri Megat Junid Megat Ayob. Subsequently, it was assigned to Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Annuar bin Haji Musa, Datuk Seri Noh bin Omar, Dato 'Seri Haji Mohd Shafie bin Haji Apdal, Dato' Sri Ahmad Shabery bin Cheek and onwards commencing in 2016 held by Dato 'Sri Reezal Merican bin Naina Merican.
From 32 Clubs and 4,000 members in 14 countries in February 2003, the 'Kelab UMNO' now (November 2016) has recorded 80 Clubs with 12,000 memberships covering 18 countries around the world.
The successes achieved by 'Kelab UMNO Luar Negara' due to its actions and direction in line with the vision of YAB Prime Minister, Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, “1Malaysia : Transformasi Berjaya, Rakyat Sejahtera”.
