RDA Great Southern works to advance the region and the Australian Government’s regional priorities. RDA Great Southern has a consultative and facilitative role and is focused on growing a strong regional economy.

Regional Development Australia Great Southern is part of a national network of locally led Committees funded by the Australian Government. RDA Great Southern builds partnerships across government, industry and community to harness regional competitive advantages, attract investment and support jobs and local opportunities.

RDA Great Southern also operates the Great Southern Universities Centre; a Commonwealth-funded Regional University Study Hub initiative that supports students to study locally, with campus-style facilities and support.

RDA Great Southern is seeking its next Chief Executive Officer to lead and represent the organisation across the region and beyond. Working closely with the Committee, you will help set and deliver strategic direction, lead a small team, and progress initiatives and partnerships that strengthen the Great Southern’s economy and communities—including oversight and support for the GS UniCentre and its Study Hubs as part of the region’s workforce and skills ecosystem.

As CEO, you will build and maintain strong relationships with local government, State and Australian Government agencies, industry, business, and community leaders. You will provide trusted regional intelligence and contribute to evidence-based planning and policy development, while helping regional stakeholders identify and pursue grants and investment opportunities aligned to agreed regional priorities.

Applications are sought from motivated, solutions-focused leaders with strong stakeholder engagement capability, experience working across multiple levels of government, and a demonstrated commitment to inclusive regional outcomes.
