ACTION🎬: Behind the scenes of AMPS NEWS Episode 2 with our Grade 5/6 students.

Our news readers make it look simple, but it’s not as easy as it seems! They work hard writing scripts about events happening at AMPS to present for each episode. The rest of the crew members direct our speakers, film the segments and roll the scripts. It’s all about teamwork in the newsroom!

Our crew often spend their recess and lunchtimes conducting interviews with students and teachers across the school. They also share other important jobs between them such as filming and photographing in-school events, and sourcing footage to report on excursions outside of school.

Equally important to each episode are the efforts of our editing crew. Each episode has 2-3 editors who work together in post production for sequencing, splicing, adjusting audio and volume, adding music, titles and transitions to make each episode ready for your viewing pleasure!

We are very lucky to have such a wonderful program and we thank our 5/6 students for their continued enthusiasm and hard work that keeps AMPS NEWS rolling.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible people in our community 💐

Today, we celebrate and honour the many forms of love, care and support that help our children grow and thrive. We acknowledge mums, grandmothers, stepmums, foster mums, carers, aunties, dads who take on the role of mum, and all those who nurture and guide with kindness every day.

We also hold space for those who find today difficult.

No matter what today means for you, we send our thoughts and warmest wishes.

💐 A huge thank you to the amazing women who volunteered their time to run our Mother’s Day Stall! (Thank you to Sam as well, who was sneaky and took the photo instead of being in it!) 💐

Your kindness, patience and care helped our students choose the perfect gifts for the special people in their lives.

We truly appreciate all the hard work that went into making the stall such a success.

We also hope to see many of our wonderful families tomorrow at our Mother’s Open Day Morning. We can’t wait to celebrate together! 💛💙

Last Thursday, our Grade 5/6 Art group students enjoyed an afternoon excursion to to view their work on display in the Hobsons Bay Arts Society 5×7 Art Prize exhibition. Our students enjoyed viewing their own and others’ artworks, and afterwards we enjoyed hot chips at the park. Our students are to be commended for showing our school values at all times on our excursion. Well done everyone! We look forward to some new Art Groups in Term 2 with Mrs Capri 🎨 💙💛

In case you missed it, we’ve got some very exciting news… our new chickens have arrived at school! 🐔

Students have already loved stopping by to see the chickens and watch them settle into their new home 🐥The excitement around the school has been incredible and we’re so happy everyone is enjoying seeing them up close!

Now it’s time for the next big step… naming them!

Last week, each class came up with some fantastic name ideas, and our JSC has worked hard to collate them all. Voting officially starts today! 🗳️ We can’t wait to see which names are chosen.
