UPDATE YOUR NEW PASSPORT DETAILS NOW….!
iVacs Australia – Important OCI Travel Reminder
With the holiday season approaching, iVacs Australia is sharing this information in the community’s interest.
1. Update your OCI record when you receive a new passport. All OCI cardholders should update their new passport details online within three months of the passport’s issue date, with accurate details and all required documents.
2. Late updates attract government fees. Passport updates submitted within three months are free of government update fees. After three months, the published Australian notice by high commission, penalty fees to be paid at VAC, Visa application centre. Please note iVacs offers application assistance at an affordable professional service fee, separate from government and VFS charges. 3. VFS requirements depend on the service. Routine passport updates submitted within three months are completed online. Late updates or applications involving OCI reissue or changes to personal particulars may require additional paperwork through VFS. Please iVacs will advise whether postal submission or personal attendance is required for your application.
4. Check your acknowledgement and application status. Keep your submission confirmation and monitor your registered email for final acknowledgement, requests for further documents or rejection notices.
5. Travel while the update is pending: Official guidance confirms that there is no restriction on travel to or from India between issuance of the new passport and final acknowledgement of the updated documents in the OCI online system. Carry your valid passport and valid OCI documentation when travelling.
