Food delivery apps can be a useful side hustle for some. But they usually aren't. The majority of deliveries are completed by a minority of drivers. Who earn less than minimum wage, even in peak periods. I don't know about you. but that aint it chief.
In a upper house hearing earlier this year Uber Eats stated that its delivery riders were earning $21.55 an hour before expenses (fuel, insurance, deprecation. etc.. That is $3.25 less than the legal minimum wage...
