This week, as Parliament returns to debate the Government’s Breach Bail Go To Jail slogan-come-policy we learn they’ve in fact cut the funding to one of the states largest bail support programs for young people who offend.

Youth Advocacy Centre has 45 year history supporting over 400 young people each year. Supporting them to meet their bail conditions and stop reoffending.

That funding has been sensationally cut, the reason? Because they wouldn’t support the Premier’s message.

Removing funding for a program that’s not working is one thing, removing it through retribution is another.

Queenslanders and victims deserve better.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s Seniors Morning Teas.

We had over 250 people request a seat, and why wouldn’t you with great locations, wonderful bites from Gerbino's and brilliant guest speakers Paddington Then and Now

Thank you to my team, our volunteers, local groups who support including Studio Pilates The Gap who provided complimentary passes and everyone involved in making this celebration of our community elders so special.

💜 Every woman deserves to feel safe.

Fair Agenda has launched a petition calling on the Crisafulli Government to reverse recent funding reductions to frontline domestic and family violence services.

No woman seeking help should be left without the specialist support she needs, when and where she needs it.

✍️ Add your name to the petition and help make women's safety a priority.

Many of us have planted native bird gardens only to find them over run with myners.

The good news is you can fix this.

Great tips in the article below (pro tip - build out the under-storey!)

Happy birthday to the big fella, Matty B ❤️

I couldn’t do the work I do without a supportive partner and family.

When we met at Arrivederci Pizzeria 15 years ago neither of us knew of the adventure we were both about to embark on.

I didn’t realise I was about to be introduced to the world of basketball and I’m sure he never expected to own so many power tools!

It’s been a beautiful ride. Love you Matt. ❤️

Mac was just 17 when he took his life after being targeted by sexual extortion online.

His dad, Wayne Holdsworth, has since turned unimaginable personal loss into a mission to protect other young people.

Through his charity Smacktalk and the Unplug24 challenge, he’s asking us to do something simple: step away from social media for 24 hours on 24 October.

Tomorrow, I’ll be taking part.

As adults, we can set an example by putting down our phones and spending more time connecting with the people around us.

I encourage you to join me tomorrow.

It’s Friday, let’s take a peek at what’s happening this weekend!

1. Join students from Ashgrove State School for a creek cleanup on Royal Parade, St John’s Wood Saturday at 3pm.

2. Movie weather? The Cinebar Rosalie Village is a great spot to catch a flick - Klara and the Sun was a great book I reckon it’ll be a wonderful movie ❤️

3. Love retro music? The The Lord Alfred on Petrie Terrace is hosting an all-vinyl night Saturday at 6pm.

4. Eat away your night before at the Milton Markets. Sunday from 6am-midday they have great food, juices, coffee and live music.

5. If the rain holds off, Sunday will be a perfect day for a walk through Mt Coot-Tha or the reservoir.

Big thanks to Madonna Jarrett MP for speaking with our Youth Advisory Group this week.

It’s always fascinating to get a peek behind the curtains of Parliament and hear how young people can have voice.

If you’re a young person (or anyone really!) wanting to get politically active DM me.
