If you employ people in the industries of hairdressing and beauty services or accommodation and food services, you must register for the Services Industry Scheme by 1 January 2027.

Registration is quick and easy and takes about 5 minutes online. If you’d like some help registering, simply visit our website and book a call with us at a time that suits you. Our team is here to help!

Portable long service leave lets you keep building your long service leave, even if you change employers within your industry. Currently, workers in the industries of building and construction, security, services (contract cleaning) and the community sector are eligible for portable long service leave in the ACT.

From 1 January 2027, workers in the industries of hairdressing and beauty services and accommodation and food services will also be eligible for portable long service leave when the Services Industry Scheme expands.
