The Legend
The idea of Ned Kelly uttering "Such is life" just before his hanging has become a popular and enduring part of his story.
The Reality:
Accounts from the time vary. Some reporters present at his ex*****on in Melbourne Gaol on November 11, 1880, claimed he said "Such is life". However, other witnesses recall hearing "Ah well, I suppose" or something mumbled and indistinct.
The Source:
One account from Monash University says a journalist condensed Kelly's actual last words, which were more of a sigh or resignation, into the more impactful "Such is life".
The Impact:
Despite the uncertainty, the phrase "Such is life" has become a powerful and resonant part of Australian folklore, often associated with a sense of stoicism and acceptance in the face of adversity.

* Highlights the challenges in developing effective vaccines due to the bacterium's complex biology and the variable nature of the disease.
Diagnosis of Lyme disease
* Discusses the difficulties in diagnosing Lyme disease, especially in early stages.
* Describes the methods used for diagnosis, including serological tests and clinical evaluation.
Treatment & clinical manifestations of Lyme disease
* Outlines the clinical manifestations of Lyme disease, ranging from mild to severe.
* Presents the current treatment options, including antibiotics, and discusses the challenges associated with treatment.
Vaccine development
* Reviews the history of Lyme disease vaccine development and the reasons for their failure.
* Explores the ongoing efforts to develop new vaccines and the strategies being employed.
Methods used to identify virulence mechanisms and determinants
* Describes the various experimental approaches used to study the virulence of B. burgdorferi.
* Discusses the importance of understanding the bacterium's genetic makeup and its interactions with the host.
Borrelia-specific versus common virulence factors

* Explores the implications of these factors for vaccine development.
Tick transmission factors of B. burgdorferi
* Examines the role of ticks in transmitting B. burgdorferi and the factors that influence transmission efficiency.
* Discusses the potential for targeting tick-borne transmission to prevent Lyme disease.
Pathogenic mechanisms at the host–pathogen interface
* Investigates the interactions between B. burgdorferi and the human host that contribute to disease development.
* Explores the role of the immune system in both protecting against and contributing to Lyme disease.
Alternative pathogenic mechanisms

As many as 476,000 people in the U.S. contract Lyme disease each year, according to the CDC. For most people, symptoms go away after two to four weeks of antibiotics, but five to 10 percent of patients have debilitating, long-term symptoms. To discuss, Ali Rogin is joined by Lindsay Keys, who’s been battling the disease for years, all while advocating for more awareness and research.

The Strength Within
There once was a fighter so bold, With a diagnosis that could freeze the soul, But she faced it head on, Refusing to be withdrawn, For her strength and resilience were gold. Through tremors and spasms she'd push, Finding joy in the smallest of hush, With each setback she'd rise, Defying all the lies, Proving that hope will always rush. Though FND may slow her down, It won't be the one to wear the crown, Her spirit shines bright, In the darkest of night, Showing the world she'll never frown. So let's raise a glass in her name, To the warrior who refuses to tame, With courage so true, She'll always see it through, For her heart will forever 💖 proclaim.

Guide of the Soul
In the vast realm where spirits roam,
A Guide of the Soul, we seek to know,
A beacon of light in shadows immersed,
To lead us towards our inherent worth.
Through tumultuous seas of emotion and strife,
This guide whispers softly, stirring life.
With thoutful words, it sparkles our mind,
Weaving threads of grace that we shall bind.
Beneath the stars, it gently inspires,
A map of truth it freely admires.
With eloquent wisdom, it gently imparts,
Nurturing love within our hearts.
A lighthouse amidst the darkest night,
This guide ignites our inner sight,
Bringing clarity to our desires,
Revealing paths that set our souls on fire.
With every verse, a sanctuary it builds,
A refuge where the spirit heals.
From depths of pain to heights of grace,
It holds our hand in this cosmic space.
Oh, Guide of the Soul, beneath your wing,
Our doubts scatter as we begin to sing.
In your verses, hope forever grows,
And through our essence, love perfectly flows.
