What a fantastic AGM! Thank you to Gerard Rennick People First Party and the people of Canberra for joining us last night at the Harmonie German Club, sharing a meal and talking through policy with us. Gerard brings real depth and detail to every issue he covers and it's clear how much thought goes into it. He gives us Aussies real hope for the future. 🇦🇺

$69 million, one British forestry fund and Tasmania’s biggest farm - gone.

Rushy Lagoon has fed Australian families for generations. Now it’s being converted into a pine plantation for carbon credits, backed by our own “Clean Energy Finance Corporation”.

Even the Tasmanian government pushed back! The state government called on the Prime Minister to intervene and overturn federal approval of the sale. Chalmers approved it anyway, during Parliament’s winter recess. 

This isn’t a one-off. It’s a pattern.

The biggest market on earth is US Treasury bonds. But it only works if oil keeps being sold in US dollars. That’s why Russia and the Middle East matter so much - they’re the two biggest oil producers.

You can’t take out Russia, so you cut off its customers instead. That’s the real story behind a lot of what’s happening with Ukraine.

Same thing happened with Saddam in the early 2000’s when he tried selling oil in Euros. Look at what happened next.

The government spent years buying back irrigation licences from farmers to put more water back into the Murray-Darling.

Now they’re set to approve a $30 billion foreign-owned data centre on the Western Downs that needs to “harvest” its own water and power to run.

📢 Important update for our Greater Canberra members.

Our Annual General Meeting has moved to Thursday 24th September, coinciding with Gerard Rennick’s visit to Canberra; a great chance to hear from him while we conduct our AGM business.

All Executive positions will be declared vacant and open for election. Our previous AGM date, 8th October, is now cancelled.

Members and non-members are welcome to attend and hear from Gerard, though only current members can vote or nominate for Executive positions.
