We’re building a new Artificial Intelligence capability at eHealth NSW and it’s an exciting time to get involved!

While we work to accelerate the use of AI across the system, our approach must remain grounded in transparency, accountability and trust.

Achieving this requires strong collaboration with industry, responsible data stewardship, and a clear commitment to ethical, legal and operational standards.

This work is being guided by the NSW Health AI Framework, produced by the NSW Health AI Taskforce.

It ensures we apply evidence-based approaches at scale to deliver safer, smarter and more connected care for the people of NSW.

Great conversations, thoughtful questions and a shared focus on better care, thank you to everyone who spent time with us Australian Healthcare Week.

It was a valuable opportunity to hear different perspectives on how digital health and AI can support patients, clinicians and the wider health system, and to continue an important conversation about where these technologies can make the biggest difference.

Richard Taggart, Chief Executive eHealth NSW, delivered a keynote on the role AI can play in improving care across NSW Health and also took part in a panel discussion on Australia’s end-to-end digital health vision.

William Chen, our Director of Finance, Corporate Governance and Risk, contributed to a separate session on AI in procurement, sharing how AI can help identify inefficiencies, improve forecasting and support more informed operational decision-making.

We’re proud to be working alongside partners across the health system, government and industry to help ensure new technologies are adopted in ways that are safe, practical and focused on better care.

The Year of the Horse is all about energy, progress and momentum. The zodiac is the perfect inspiration as we continue driving digital innovation and stronger collaboration across eHealth NSW.

This week, our team celebrated Lunar New Year with a staff‑funded event organised entirely by our people. It was a fantastic showcase of culture, community and talent, featuring:

✨ A vibrant lion dance performance by our staff.
✨ A stunning guzheng and Chinese calligraphy session.
✨ Plenty of colour, food and connection across teams.

Germaine Kew, Senior Business Analyst and one of the key organisers of the event brought everyone together including our Executive team and Adjunct Professor Alfa D’Amato, Deputy Secretary, Financial Services and Asset Management, and Chief Financial Officer of NSW Health.

“It’s always great to bring staff together to celebrate Lunar New Year and strengthen our sense of community," says Germaine.

Events like this remind us how important it is to celebrate the diversity that makes our organisation stronger and how our shared goals are powered by the people behind them.
