While waiting for our next flight at Vancouver airport yesterday we saw this beautiful textile work by Heather Talbot. It was a combination of needle felting and stitch. More info on this artist in the last 2 pictures! It was a bit tricky to take photos through the glass cabinet!

Changing the colour! I had a lot of yellow wool left over from last year’s natural dye group, so today I modified some with copper sulphate (top 3 skeins) and iron sulphate to get different shades of green!

HWSGV Natural Dye Group. At our monthly get together we had 4 different dye pots on the go- coreopsis, eucalyptus crenulata, scarlet black fungi and Osage orange! Our plan was to get 4 different oranges to go with our 2026 project ‘The colour Wheel’. The pinks and red shades came from madder a lac extracts from March’s dye day.

Day 2 of the HWSGV retreat at Marysville. Today we dyed with Eucalyptus crenulata. Very similar dye colour as yesterday. Over the weekend we used the dye pot 7 times!
The skeins looked so vibrant all together.
