Logwood, Osage orange and madder!

I started this solar jar 4 weeks ago by collecting several different wattles/acacias while travelling around South Australia! I would collect one type of flower and add it to the container for a few and then discard it when I found a different wattles!
Next week I will add some mordanted wool fibre and see what strength of yellow dye I get!

Pink and yellow day today at Lake Tyrrell which is a salt lake not far from Sea Lake in Victoria. One of my favourite natural dye plants oxalis is just everywhere along the roadsides as well as the beautiful vibrant coloured acacias that are coming into bloom everywhere!

It’s all about black, with some little owl key rings in the making, stained glass felting from a workshop I took a few weeks ago and finally our Natural Dye group session yesterday to create a black natural dye using copper, logwood and madder. The little black skein compared to the large ball of black commercially dyed wool, pretty close!
