🐍 It's snake season – please be careful 🐍

The snakes you may encounter in Nillumbik are an important part of the local ecosystem, but are also venomous so please be careful when visiting Edendale. The farm is adjacent to the Diamond Creek, and has a dam and a wetland area too, so there is plenty of water and food to attract snakes, particularly on hot days.

Please be mindful as you are walking around the farm, especially in areas where there are fewer people.

If you do see a snake while you are visiting us, please stay calm, keep your distance and let us know - either tell one of the farm, nursery or reception staff. We then sign the area with the date and time of the sighting, to let people know that a snake has been seen.

To find out more about the local snakes of Nillumbik, the important role they play, and how we can live safely with snakes, please refer to our website -www.edendale.vic.gov.au/Learn/Our-local-environment/Animals/Snakes-in-Nillumbik
