In Tana’s words:
“My social work placement at Diverse Capacity Builders (DCB) has been an incredibly valuable and rewarding experience that has contributed significantly to my personal and professional growth as an emerging social worker.
From the beginning, I was welcomed into a supportive and encouraging team that provided me with meaningful opportunities to develop my knowledge, skills and understanding of social work practice within the NDIS sector.
Throughout my placement, I was encouraged to move beyond observation, think critically, ask questions, and gradually take on greater responsibility under supervision.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my supervisor, Jacquie Law, for her continuous guidance, encouragement, and support throughout my placement. Jacquie created a learning environment where I felt comfortable asking questions, challenging my assumptions, and reflecting critically on my developing practice.
Her mentorship played an important role in building my confidence, strengthening my professional judgement, and shaping my emerging social work identity.
I am also incredibly grateful to the entire DCB team for their kindness, willingness to share their knowledge and commitment to supporting my learning.
