What started as a vision has grown alongside our vines, blossoms, and deep-rooted love for this community.

There is something entirely magical about watching a garden courtyard mature through the seasons…sunlight filtering through the leaves, vibrant bursts of color against the brickwork, and a space designed purely to make you feel amazing.

Whether you’re dropping in for a divine cup of coffee, treating yourself to delicious local food, or simply looking for a quiet corner to sit back, breathe deep, and restore the soul… this place was built for you. ☕️🥐✨

Come soak up the spring air with Lemon Tree Cafe Geurie & Jacinta Haycock Artist. Your table in the courtyard is waiting!

Office for the day? Yes, please! ✨💻

We loved seeing this gorgeous gal enjoying a delish drink & cookie from the Lemon Tree Cafe in Geurie today.

It is a spectacular time of year to head to Geurie, grab your laptop, do a spot of work from the garden courtyard, and enjoy working outside alongside some truly great hospitality! 🌿☕️🍪

Who else is swapping the indoor desk for some fresh air and sweet treats this week? 👇

🚗 Access to the on-site carpark will be via Chambers Street.

🚶Access via the front street will be limited to walking (or zimmering… wheeling…).

We will have a bicycle parking spot, and welcome all motorized scooters, as our elderly or disabled cruise around the village in their trusty modes of transport!

Clearing the way for an exciting new chapter on Geurie’s main street! 🌱🚜

After nearly three weeks sidelined by a “fun” trifecta of Influenza A. Strep throat & RSV… it felt amazing to finally catch some sunlight and make the most of the final Saturday of the school holidays with the kids helping load up the trailer.

A massive shoutout and huge thanks to Mark Cobden from Mark’s lawns and Gardens for mowing, spraying, loading, and making sure everything was safely tied down. Absolute legend and a massive help.

Together, we cleared out four palm trees and one stubborn noxious w**d tree that was growing right out of the stormwater drain.

Fun local moment: a passing local spotted the palms coming down and pulled up to ask if we could donate them to the elephants at the zoo! 🐘 🐘

It was brilliant to see the fronds, crowns, and trunks all happily eaten up by the elephants = saving us a trip to the tip (though the noxious w**d went straight to the Dubbo Tip, not the enclosure!).

Next up on the tools: we’re bringing in help to take down the old boundary fence, strip off that harsh prison-look barbed wire, paint the posts fresh black, and put up clean new cyclone mesh.

Combined with CCTV cameras, sensor floodlights, and Macquarie Alarms, this prime site is getting a total safety and aesthetic upgrade.

It’s been a three-year project involving endless paperwork, reports, and studies, and we can’t reveal all the final details just yet... but it is finally coming together!

Watch this space. ✨

Seriously incredible evening in Wellington tonight as Wellington Arts Centre Inc created a special experience celebrating food, art, music & community.

Community spirit in spades & smiles, giggles and lots of happy country kids agog as the Chinese dragon weaved its way down Fong Lees Lane. A nod to our diverse history, and the hard working folks that built what we now enjoy.

Thank you to all involved. Very special evening.

Turning the page on the old car yard site in Geurie! 🚜✨

After three years of steady work behind the scenes, our development application and Statement of Environmental Effects to transform the former car yard into new village shops is just about ready to lodge with Dubbo Regional Council.

Putting together a comprehensive DA (complete with specialized plans, supporting reports, and technical input) is certainly no small feat.

A huge thank you to our incredible team of surveyors and planners, and to the duty planners at Dubbo Regional Council for their patience and guidance as we navigated the paperwork.

We believe deeply in breathing new life into older spaces to support the growth of Geurie and our surrounding rural district.

Transparency is a core value for us through this process.

If you’re curious or interested in taking a look, please send us a direct message and we’re more than happy to share the documents.

It would be fantastic to see more projects like this take root in our village ✨ reimagining spaces that served us well in the past to help build a vibrant, thriving future for the entire community. 🌱

Is it just us, or have you also wondered what truly keeps a rural village thriving for generations?

Rural health economics and community research point to one absolute powerhouse: the local pharmacy and health hub.

Beyond filling prescriptions, community pharmacies act as vital social and preventative health anchors.

Here is why adding health infrastructure is the ultimate “needle-mover” for growing regional villages and districts like ours:

🛑 Stops the Leakage of Essential Trips:

Healthcare is non-negotiable.

When residents have to drive to a larger regional centre just to pick up basic medical supplies or scripts, they bundle that trip with grocery shopping, fuel, and banking (taking away vital capital right out of the village).

Keeping health services local keeps local dollars local.

🏡 Drives Demographic Stability:

Access to reliable healthcare is consistently ranked as the #1 deciding factor for retirees choosing to age in place rather than sell up and move to town, and a massive priority for young families looking to plant roots in the bush.

Building a vibrant, self-sufficient village isn’t just about lifestyle it is about securing the essential infrastructure that allows our Geurie community to look after its own.

What services do you think make the biggest difference in keeping our region strong?
