Gloucester Rural Fire Service A small, but dedicated brigade protecting the community of Gloucester on the Midcoast of NSW.

11/10/2026

We may only have a moderate fire danger today on the MidCoast but our conditions are no better than the Greater Hunter who have a TOBAN in place. With a temperature in the mid 30's forecast and a RH in the teens; please be mindful of this if you are planning to burn today. Have the appropriate equipment on hand and don't leave it unattended until completely extinguished. The boards may say Moderate but it is ultimately up to you to check the forecast and make the right decision.

A massive effort by Gloucester members, Wednesday night and over the weekend taking down the old particle board walls and ceiling in our meeting and training room. The station is undergoing a renovation with new plasterboard on the walls and ceiling, new air conditioning, new electrical and plumbing and a new office space for our executive.

Gloucester Rural Fire Brigade Receives Grant from Regional Australia Bank

This generous support will go towards upgrading our meeting and training room, helping ensure our members have the space and resources they need to prepare, train, and stay ready as the fire season approaches.

Our volunteers give their time selflessly to protect this community, often at a moment’s notice and in difficult conditions. Contributions like this make a real difference, not just to our facilities, but to our ability to keep training and keep showing up when we’re needed most.

We are deeply grateful to Regional Australia Bank for recognising and investing in the work we do. Support like this strengthens not only our brigade, but the safety and resilience of the entire community we serve.

Thank you for standing with us.

“Another year, another birthday to our Captain Kevin Adams, leader of the fire brigade.

Truth is, we’re lucky to have you at the helm. Here’s to another year of steering the crew with unearned confidence, surprisingly good results, and the kind of leadership that actually makes a difference.

Hope your day was as great as you deserve, Captain.”

A Heartfelt Thank You to the Rotary Club of Gloucester

Gloucester Rural Fire Brigade would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Rotary Club of Gloucester for their generous donation received at last Tuesday night’s changeover.

Attending on behalf of the brigade were Senior Deputy Captain Jason Slade, Secretary Nicola Slade, and Training Officer Paul Fitzpatrick — accompanied, of course, by brigade mascot Rollee!

This wonderful contribution will go directly towards training and equipment, ensuring our members are better prepared to serve and protect our community. Support like this makes a real difference to a volunteer brigade, and we are truly grateful for Rotary’s ongoing commitment to the Gloucester community.

Thank you again to everyone at the Rotary Club of Gloucester — your generosity is very much appreciated.

We had 2 May birthdays this week in the brigade - Senior Deputy Jason Slade (16th) and Equipment Officer/Instructor Paul Fitzpatrick (20th)……only 4 days separated them. Wishing you both a very happy birthday. Luckily we didn’t have to call Fire and Rescue to help put out the candles🤣🤣

Yesterday Gloucester RFB was tasked to assist at the Burdekin fire burning near Bulahdelah. A crew of four in the Cat 7 tanker went over for the swing shift commencing at 1600 and returning back in station in the early hours of the morning. While on scene we carried back burning operations, property protection, community liason and direct firefighting tasks.
