Please please share..we need to stop our ignorant councils and government officials, they r few in number but affecting the mass citizens of australia. 1080 should be banned. There are better ways, guardian breeds ie maremma will protect stock, farmers are responsible for their stock, not government. Government is responsible for protection of fauna and prosecuting those who allow domestic animals to become wild. Govt agricultural officials are lazy, taking the easy blanket approach to baiting. They have no accountability, govt safe job. Privatize this feral issue, so all Australian citizens can have input.

𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: At the behest the NSW Government’s Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, up to ONE MILLION 1080-laced poison baits will be dropped across 60,000kms in NSW alone by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.

The poison, though banned almost everywhere else on the planet, is set to become a pivotal part of ongoing "clean-up" operations in the aftermath of the most destructive and dangerous bushfire season in living memory.

🤬 The gobsmacking million is in addition to the baits that are already littering nature reserves, national parks and private property.

They will be dropped from helicopters in burnt and unburnt areas alike, putting survivors of the fires at risk even if they manage to make it out of the flames alive.

If we don't give them hell for it today, they'll get away with more of it tomorrow.

𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Two weeks ago today, we released a map that revealed intersections between 1080 baiting sites and still-burning bushfires.

❌ We've called on the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and local councils in bushfire impacted areas to enact an urgent moratorium on 1080 baiting so that survivors stand a fighting chance to make it out of this disaster alive. Over 2000 Coalition supporters have joined us.

Today, we received the photo below from a local Coalition supporter. It was snapped in Central Coast Council - the same council we cross-referenced 2020 bait sites with up-to-date RFS bushfire data.

🤬 Australia, this is simply unacceptable. We MUST do something, and we must do it NOW.

1080 is a chemical the rest of the world overwhelmingly refuses to allow past it's borders, let alone in its fragile ecosystem. There is no known antidote. Victims die a protracted death after hours, often even days, of immense suffering. They bleed from every hole in their bodies.

🚫 We don't believe that any animal deserves this death. Do you?

Baits in this small area of coastal NSW alone will continue through until June 30 - totalling a gobsmacking 6 months. During that time, no one is truly safe.

What is wrong with our defect politicians????..are fires not enough to destroy our wildlife, now a non reversible poison that affects every carnivore native, plus the livestock fogs that have been displaced in the fires, plus the assistance dogs out to find burned koalas!!!! As our brave firefighters do their best to stop the flames from spreading any further, any animal lucky enough to escape deserves our undivided protection: they don't deserve to die because we couldn't be bothered removing baits on burnt-out bushland or in any areas directly adjacent to it.

So we're calling on the Acting Director of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service to issue 𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦 on 1080 baiting in all areas impacted by the 2019-20 Australian bushfires.
