The Department of Transport and Planning has published the Final Scoping Requirements for the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal Environment Effects Statement (EES).
The Scoping Requirements set out the proposed specific matters to be investigated and documented in the EES.
The Final Scoping Requirements have been updated following two rounds of public comment (November β December 2024 & September 2025).
Now that the Final Scoping Requirements have been published, Port of Hastings Corporation will review and implement the Scoping Requirements to inform preparation of our Environment Effects Statement (EES).

The Victorian Government has reconfirmed the Port of Hastings as the preferred location for the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal.
Port of Hastings Corporation (PoHC) are about to commence a program of engagement activities starting in November to update stakeholders and the community about the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal.
This will include details on the project design, project description and environmental assessment process.
Come down to the Hastings Community Hall for a chance to speak with our team.

Community Reference Group (CRG)
Port of Hastings Corporation (PoHC) are also seeking expressions of interest from community for our project Community Reference Group (CRG).
The CRG will provide a regular forum for key community representatives to discuss project impacts and opportunities during the planning and design of the Terminal.
Expressions of interest are now open until 29 November 2024.

The Port of Hastings Corporation today welcomed its new Chief Executive Officer, Matt Thorpe.
Matt brings more than 30 yearsβ experience leading teams in the design, construction, and operation of major public infrastructure projects, most recently as an Executive Director at the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP).
Matt will guide the Portβs ongoing operations, including the development of the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal to support the construction of the Stateβs first offshore wind farms. We look forward to introducing Matt to our community and stakeholders over the coming weeks.
