Training today was a real fire session at CFA Central Highlands Training Campus at Ballan using their amazing facility. Along with Musk Brigade and Newlyn-Dean Brigade we went through five different scenarios involving everything from fires in cars, houses, and petrol tankers to service stations. Two of our members further consolidated their skills in Breathing Apparatus use. Members practiced our skills in effectively working together across Brigades. Thank you to Andy from Newlyn-Dean Brigade for running this session for us.

The test of the AusAlert system is happening TODAY Monday 27 July 2026 at 2pm approx AEST. It will be loud and last for about ten seconds. It works through mobile phones, some tablets and smart phones. If you have a hidden phone for safety reasons turn it off or in to aero plane mode for an hour either side of the test. The test alarm will still sound if you have your phone in silent mode.

AusAlert may increase risk for people experiencing violence, especially if they live with someone who uses violence. Alerts may expose safety devices.

AusAlert is Australia’s new national warning system. It’s a fast and reliable way to help people be informed and better prepared during emergencies.

On Monday 27 July 2026 at around 2pm AEST, a national test of AusAlert will happen. During the test, all compatible mobile devices in Australia will be sent a Critical Alert at the same time.

We will be doing training at the Springs Reserve, Hepburn Springs tonight Thursday 11/6/26 from 6.30pm-8.30pm with Musk Fire Brigade So if you see us out and about know that we are practicing our skills in preparation for the real thing. If you would like to join us, come down and see us at the Station on a Sunday morning and become part of the team

🚨Just a heads up for the Daylesford Community in and around Smith St!!

The Glenlyon Group of Fire Brigade will be doing a winter group training exercise at Daylesford College this Sunday from 9am. You will see most of the fire trucks from the group in that area Sunday morning. Lights and sirens will NOT be used unless we are responding to a real emergency.
