Flying Fish Point State School is a co-educational State School catering for children from Prep to Year Six. The school services the local Flying Fish Point community which is located approximately 8 km from the township of Innisfail. The school currently has an enrolment of 42 students and classes are multi-aged. Class configurations at the school vary from year to year according to the numbers in any given cohort. Flying Fish Point State School is one of eight schools in the area. Approximately 20% of our students travel from Innisfail to attend classes. Our focus is to provide students with the best educational outcomes possible. This can be achieved through determination, a positive attitude and a commitment to learning. Staff encourage students to build positive relationships with others and to try their best and never give up. We welcome

Heights, harnesses and heaps of courage! 💪 These brave adventurers have been pushing themselves, conquering fears and showing us what happens when you believe in yourself and give something new a go! 💙💛

Wednesday 7th October was National Banana Day. A day we celebrate one of Far North Queensland's favourite fruits. A huge THANK YOU to Mr and Mrs Catelan, our wonderful local banana growers, who generously supply fresh and delicious bananas to our school.

🌎 WORLD EXPO DAY – DATE CHANGE 🌎

Unfortunately, we have had to postpone our much-anticipated World Expo Day while work continues to get our classrooms back up and running.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work to get everything ready for our students. 💙💛

The good news is that World Expo Day will now take place in Week 10 as part of our end-of-year breakup celebrations! 🎉🌏

We’re looking forward to celebrating the amazing cultures of the world with our students, families and school community. Thank you for your continued support as we get everything back on track!

STEP INTO PREP 2026 – TERM 4!

We are excited to invite our future Prep students and their parents/carers to join us for our Step into Prep sessions at Flying Fish Point State School! 💙💛

These sessions are a wonderful opportunity for children to become familiar with our school, meet our staff, make new friends and have lots of fun while getting ready for their first year of school. 📚🎨🧩

📅 Our Term 4 sessions:
🌟 Thursday 15 October – Story time, letter activities & colour activities
🌟 Thursday 29 October – Learning is Fun, literacy games, craft & name activities
🌟 Thursday 12 November – Story book, craft & fine motor activities
🌟 Thursday 26 November – Play-based learning, puzzles & celebration activity

⏰ Sessions run from 9:00am–10:30am (first session finishes at 10:00am).

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents/carers are invited to attend with their child and are required to remain at school for the duration of each session.

🎒 New enrolments receive a FREE school uniform!
☀️ Please bring a hat and morning tea.
