♻️ CERES INCURSION: From linear to circular! 🌏

A big thank you to Pia from the Centre for Environmental Research and Earth Sciences (CERES) for visiting Movelle PS and helping us explore the difference between a linear and circular waste economy! 🌱

We learnt about the lifecycle of aluminium cans, glass bottles and plastic bottles, discovering how the choices we make can help reduce waste and protect our planet. 🌎

This inspiring session sparked lots of ideas about how we can introduce the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme at our school to reduce waste and litter! ♻️ We explored which containers can be collected and worked together to create an action plan.

Our Junior School Council and Sustainability Crew have SO many exciting ideas to lead this initiative. We can’t wait to turn our learning into action and make a positive difference in our school community! 💚🙌

💃🏼DANCE CLUB🕺 Our lunch time Dance Club was a hit today! Happening every Friday at lunch time, Prep-6 students are welcome to enjoy some guided dance videos and get their groove on, ready for the weekend!

🪏🪴🫜 BUNNINGS VISIT!! 🧑‍🌾👩🏽‍🌾 Today, we welcomed Casey back from Bunnings in Caroline Springs for another gardening workshop! Students had the opportunity to plant some new seedlings - tomato, carrot, eggplant, lettuce, various herbs, corn, strawberries and many other fruit and veges! Casey showed us how to separate the seedling, plant them and water them. We look forward to being able to enjoy a snack from our garden in the months ahead! Thank you also, Casey, for our providing some compost to add to our compost tumblers! Our Sustainability Crew will be hard at work with our composting project! 🍌🪴

Our Prep - Year Two students had a fabulous day on Thursday attending MOPA in Geelong and making a stop off at the Rippleside Adventure Playground.

Students connected with the art of play and were wowed by some of the exhibits. They engaged in everything so positively and were commended by the MOPA staff at how well behaved they were. We couldn’t be more proud!

☕🥞 Father’s Day Breakfast done right! 💙

What a fantastic turnout! A morning filled with delicious food, plenty of laughs, great company, and so many happy faces. It was wonderful to see dads, families, friends, and all the special people who make our community so great come together to celebrate.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning such a memorable one. We loved sharing the laughs, the stories, and the special moments with you all! 💙👏

🔬⚡️M A D A B O U T S C I E N C E ⚡️🔬

What an exciting day of hands-on science! Our whole school participated in the Mad About Science incursion, exploring energy, static electricity, fire and so much more! 🔥🧪

From static hair standing on end 😆 to flying toilet rolls 🧻💨 and amazing smoke rings 💨⭕️, the experiments were so cool and had every student thoroughly engaged, curious and excited to learn!

A fantastic day of fun, discovery and science! 🌟
