Venus is retrograde in Scorpio and Libra, backtracking through my twelfth and eleventh houses.

The eleventh house is where we seek our kindred spirits, our tribe and our community.

The twelfth house is about solitude and confinement, and it can also be a place of sanctuary.

I’ve been thinking about the difference between real connection and the performance of connection, and about what remains when the usual social rewards don’t feel as important for a while.

The answer, so far, has been simple: retreat, review, revisit, revise, reconsider and reimagine.

Three ways to work with me: Introducing the morning coffee catchup ☕️✨

Astrology is most useful when it is specifically tailored to you.

I work with people who want more than a generic horoscope or a list of planetary meanings. Your birth chart provides the long view. Current transits tell us what is happening now and what is coming next. Together, they give us a way of understanding the timing of your life, and making more informed choices about what you do with it.

I now offer three ways to work with me.

A comprehensive Natal and Predictive Consultation is where we begin. We spend the time needed to understand your birth chart, your long-term patterns and the major cycles ahead. You receive a detailed natal report and a two-to-three-year transit report, prepared specifically for you.

A Predictive Update Consultation is for returning clients whose original transit report has reached or is reaching the end of its useful period. We look at the next chapter and I prepare a new predictive report. If you’ve *ever* worked with me, this is the one for you.

And there is now a third option.

A Short Consultation: What’s Happening Now?

This is a focused 30 minute conversation for returning clients who already have a current transit report and want to talk through what is happening for them right now.

A change at work. A relationship question. A decision that needs making. A period that feels unusually demanding or full of possibility. Sometimes you don’t need another 45-page report. You just need to sit down with someone who knows your chart and look at the timing together.

The short consultation is available via Zoom. I’ll send you a summary afterwards.

I had my first astrology reading when I was nine.

A young woman who lived nearby was learning astrology and practising on anybody she could get her hands on.

My mum didn’t mind, so she told me what time I had been born, and I sat down and had my chart read.

The young astrologer told me I had Sagittarius rising.

“That’s probably why you like horses”.

I thought: Well, yeah. I do like horses. Isn’t that amazing?

And that was it. I was a convert from that day on.

Years later, when I was studying astrology with Bernadette Brady, she went around the room asking everyone in the class why they were there.

Most people said they wanted to understand themselves better.

When it got to my turn, I said:

“I want to be an astrologer.”

I wasn’t looking for a hobby. I wasn’t looking for a way to understand myself.

I’ve always known that this was my calling.

Sometimes I think the nine-year-old version of us knows more than we give her credit for.

I’m an astrologer who doesn’t like woo.

I don’t think astrology needs to sound mysterious to be interesting.

One of the things I pride myself on is avoiding the worst excesses of pseudo-spirituality.

I like astrology. I find it fascinating. I’ve spent decades studying it.

And I don’t need to dress it up in cosmic waffle.

If I find that Saturn is doing something significant in your chart, I don’t want to leave you with:

“Saturn is bringing karmic growth”

Because what does that even mean?

I want to explain what Saturn is actually doing.

What part of your chart it’s activating.

What that can look like in ordinary life.

What sort of decisions you might be facing.

The best way to approach them.

And why I’m interpreting the symbolism in that particular way.

My clients regularly tell me that my strength is in my explanations.

That means a lot, because clarity is important to me.

Because astrology is full of symbols and technical language.

My job isn’t to dazzle you with the language.

My job is to translate and interpret it.

Prospective clients sometimes ask whether I use tarot cards, pendulums or other divination tools when I do an astrology reading.

My answer is this: If you need to use cards, you don’t know enough astrology.

That’s probably a slightly provocative thing to say.

And it might offend a lot of people who call themselves “astrologers”

But astrology is a complete system.

I don’t need another piece of equipment to tell me what your chart is saying.

What I need is your birth data: the time, the date and the name of the town or city in which you were born.

People often ask me when I’m going to write a book.

The answer is... I don’t know.

I’ve been writing since I learned to hold a pencil.

I’ve been writing about astrology since 2002.

And I haven’t exactly been sitting around waiting for inspiration to strike.

Over the years I’ve built a huge working library of astrological material.

There’s a chapter for every planet, in every sign, in every house, and in aspect to every other planet.

Then there’s the predictive material: all of those combinations, applied in real time, for when I’m looking at what is happening in someone’s life now.

I use this material every day.

I rewrite it. I add to it. I throw things out. I update it. And I share it with my clients.

I learn something from a client and go back and change a chapter because I now understand something I didn’t understand ten years ago.

So when someone asks, “When are you writing your book?” it’s hard to know how to answer.

Where do you start when you’ve already written more than a thousand chapters?

Perhaps the book is in there somewhere.

I just have to work out which bit to put first.

For now, I’ll keep writing. That’s the thing I know how to do.

When your astrology reading ends, I don’t just say, “See you later. Thanks for coming.”

You leave with a lengthy natal chart report.

And an even lengthier personalised transit report.

The natal report gives you a reference point for understanding your chart: the planets, signs, houses and aspects that make up your particular astrological picture.

Then there’s the predictive work.

That’s where we look at the next couple of years and the periods that may be particularly significant for you.

And I don’t download this from some software program and hand it over.

I work with my own extensive library of astrological material, then customise it for the individual sitting in front of me.

Because your chart isn’t a generic chart.

And your life isn’t a generic life.

The report gives you something you can come back to after the consultation.

You might read it immediately.

You might put it away for a month.

You might find yourself pulling it out six months later because something we talked about has suddenly become relevant.

That’s how I want it to work.

Your reading doesn’t end the moment you walk out the door.

You don’t need to “believe” in anything.

You just need to be open-minded.

The people I work with aren’t necessarily astrology enthusiasts.

They’re people who are interested enough to want to know more.

People who recognise that there are things going on around us that we can’t necessarily see or explain.

People who understand that timing can make a difference.

And people who are at a point where they’re trying to work something out.

Where am I going?

Is this the right time to make a change?

Why does everything seem to be moving so slowly?

Should I push ahead with this project?

Is there a better time coming?

What am I actually good at?

What do I do with this next stage of my life?

That’s where I come in.

We look at your birth chart first, because that’s the foundation.

Then we look at what’s happening now and what’s coming up.

I don’t give you a generic horoscope.

I look at your chart and the particular period you’re living through.

And we talk about what it means for you.
