Meet the Southern Cassowary (Casuarius casuarius) πŸ¦– This prehistoric looking beauty has a bright blue head, helmet-like casque, and shaggy black feathers. Its feet pack a serious punch with dagger like claws giving it the reputation of world’s most dangerous bird!

Something really exciting is returning to McIntosh Street these school holidays 🐒

We have Jackson, a local wildlife educator from Educreatures Zoo, joining us to put on an interactive animal demonstration!!

This demonstration is a perfect time for kids to meet and learn about a range of Australian Native wildlife - there will even be opportunities for hands on interaction!

🦎 When: Wednesday 15th of April, from 12:30pm - 1:30pm

🦎 Where: 14 McIntosh Street, Airport West (in our portable!)

🦎 Cost: $10 per child

There are only limited tickets available to ensure that all children who attend get a chance to participate, so if you’re interested get in quick! Tickets can be purchased from our McIntosh Street office!

🐸 IMPORTANT INFORMATION 🐸

As a school holiday activity, this event is for children between the ages of 3-13.

This is a show with live animals, so to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone joining us (including the animals!) children will need to bring their listening ears and gentle hands.

Parents/guardians will need to accompany their children. Due to the limited capacity for the event, we ask that parents/guardians are limited to one per family.

Australia’s giant millipede may look creepy but it’s actually a harmless member of the clean-up crew, breaking down leaf litter and keeping the ecosystem ticking 🌱

Would you hold one? πŸ‘€

How cute is β€˜Billy’ one of our critically endangered Brush-tailed Bettongs (Bettongia penicillata) happily snacking away in my arms… and to think, when they’re born they’re barely bigger than a jellybean! 🫘

Super important to stay alert on our roads and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife who may be near or on it! These two Echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus) were lucky today to not become victims of vehicle strike πŸš— πŸ¦” Do your bit for our wildlife, slow down, stay alert and if safe to do so, guide them off the roads.
