An Evening to Remember!!
I had the privilege of attending the Governor’s Multicultural Awards as the Director of Modbury North Kindergarten, following our nomination by our Governing Council Chair, Miryana Mim Luksa. It was a true honour to meet Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC and to receive such meaningful recognition.
This moment holds a special place in our hearts, made even more significant by the fact that the nomination came from a parent—a powerful testimony to the incredible work our team is doing every day!
These prestigious awards celebrate outstanding South Australians who champion multiculturalism and help deepen the understanding of the value cultural diversity brings to our community. What an exciting time to be part of this journey!
Administered by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet through Multicultural Affairs, the Awards are presented by Her Excellency on the advice of an independent judging panel.
A very special thanks to Dannielle Gibson, our word wizard, for your magical touch on the nomination application and for always being there—nudging us gently (and persistently!) toward growth. Your support means the world to us.

Can’t believe it’s August already! Our mid-year children have settled in so well, while our January intake children have stepped into mentoring roles. The beauty of being an early childhood educator is that you learn something new every day and get to witness the journey of these beautiful children, who fill your heart with happiness and pride.

We have an exciting announcement to make! The Kindergarten will be hosting coffee mornings for our families, organized by members of the governing council and staff. Drop off your children and join us in our beautiful backyard for tea, coffee, cookies, and a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families. Younger siblings, grandparents, uncles, and aunties are all welcome to join in the fun.

Please remember to bring a travel mug (leak-proof, please, as there might be young children present). More details will be provided via email.

Please share the Kindy flyer with friends and local community in our area as we now are accepting enrolments for mid year 2024. We still have some spots available. (For children turning 4 between the 1st May 2024 to 31st October 2024)

Children who are due to start in 2025 (turning 4 after 31st October 2024) are welcome to have a kindy tour and fill in the preschool registration of interest form.

Dear Families,

We had a partial power loss today, we have been informed that our fridge is faulty and is drawing too much power. So the fridge wont be plugged in. Please send cold ice packs along with the lunch boxes if the food needs to be kept cold. We might still keep them in the fridge, as it will be easier to maintain the temperature and the routine for the children but the fridge wont be plugged in. We will look into replacing the fridge soon!!

For Many of our kindy families, this weekend marks a very special day, with the festival of 🪔 Diwali 🪔 which is on Sunday 12.11.23 this year. Diwali is a festival of lights and lamps. This is one of the major festivals of Hindus, Sikhs and many other cultural groups, which is celebrated across the world amongst Indian community with great grandeur and enthusiasm. Lighting lamps represents goodness, purity and good luck. The children have been exploring making diyas, lamps, rangoli at kindy which are some of the highlights of this festival. The Monday Tuesday group will get to explore all these next week!!
