Peter Steele, Koala Krusader and Founder of World Wildlife Sanctuaries, aged 82, sets sail this week to solo circumnavigate Australia and then the World in a yacht.
At his age, his sail will create a number of world sailing and endurance records.
He'll use the publicity he generates to help his campaign to save our endangered koalas and other wildlife from extinction.

The Burrowing Bettong has suffered a catastrophic decline, having disappeared from 99% of its former range because of predation by foxes and cats. It now survives only in feral predator-free areas. This individual was photographed during a survey on AWCβs world heritage-listed Faure Island, where (in the absence of cats and foxes) one of the last Bettong populations has now grown to more than 5,000 animals.

πππ
Today is World Orangutan Day. A day to help encourage people to take action in preserving this amazing species.
You can support orangutans today by wearing orange, saying no to palm oil, spreading word about World Orangutan Day among your friends & family, becoming a foster parent to one of the beautiful orphan orangutans at the OFI Care Centre or you can make a donation now at http://orangutanfoundation.org.au/the-cause/.
Please share to help orangutans.
