On Wednesday, our Year 12 students participated in an informative presentation from LifeFlight focused on Road Accident Scene Safety.
Students learned that responding to an accident is about more than just first aid, itโs knowing how to stay safe, assess a situation, and respond appropriately while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
A big thank you to LifeFlight for sharing their expertise and helping equip our students with valuable real-world skills that could one day make a difference.

With just 100 days to go, excitement is building as our Year 12 cohort prepares for the final chapter of their time in the Woods. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and look forward to celebrating many more milestones together in the months ahead.

Work is officially underway on a major upgrade to our MPC (Multi-Purpose Centre), with the existing court surface now removed to make way for a brand-new floor.
Once completed, the new flooring will provide an outstanding playing surface for our students, supporting a wide range of school events for years to come.
A huge thank you to our regional infrastructure team for funding this project and investing in improved facilities for our school community.
We can't wait to reveal the finished result!

At Ormeau Woods SHS, we are committed to ensuring every student understands their learning journey and what success looks like in the classroom.
Led by Deputy Principal Nicole Norfolk, our Learning Walks and Talks are based on the research of Lyn Sharratt and take place regularly across the school. During these visits, middle and executive leaders engage students in conversations about their learning by asking five key questions, helping them to develop a clear understanding of:
โ
What they are learning
โ
How they are going
โ
How do they know
โ
How can they improve
โ
Where do they go for help
These conversations empower students to take ownership of their learning and build confidence in discussing their progress, achievements and goals.
Since the beginning of 2025, we have seen a noticeable increase in the confidence and clarity of student responses, reflecting the outstanding work happening in classrooms.
We are proud of the way our students are engaging with their learning and developing the skills to become confident, reflective and successful learners.
