Did you know there are 182 Men's Sheds in Western Australia?
Men's Sheds provide a safe environment for men (and women) to work on creative projects, learn new skills, and develop incredible friendships.
As a volunteer, you can help people enjoy the shed safely and support them with activities and repair jobs. Helping another person build their skills is incredibly rewarding, not to mention a great way to form new friendships.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Volunteer Management Activity Project Showcase!
The event was a fantastic opportunity to hear from the eight grant-funded projects who have been breaking down barriers to volunteering in different ways.
It was wonderful to explore what’s possible when barriers are broken down and communities come together.

When it comes to reconciliation, everyone has a role to play.
Today is the first day of National Reconciliation Week (27 May - 3 June), a time to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The theme for 2026 is 'All In', a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.
Volunteering WA is proud to support reconciliation in Western Australia. Last year we finished developing our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, which you can find on our website here: https://bit.ly/4ul2ElS

National Volunteer Week has officially come to an end, with some of Western Australia’s longest serving volunteers formally acknowledged at the WA Volunteer Service Awards ceremony.
Today’s Awards Ceremony acknowledged 458 amazing and selfless West Aussies who have volunteered for five or more years.
Thank you to Ron Sao for handing out some of the awards for me!
And a huge, massive congratulations to three incredible individuals recognised for a Lifetime Achievement Award (60 years of volunteering or more).
