🧐 YOUR RATES EXPLAINED - (Canning)

The City of Canning are proposing a 🔺 5.75%🔺 rate increase which means an average increase of 🔺$87🔺 per household (depending on where you live).

It's a re-valuation year, which means the higher the value of the gross rental on your property, the more your rates may increase.

In addition, you will also notice a:
🔺 5% increase to the state emergency services levy - nothing to do with the local government, they just collect the $ and pass on to the state
🔺 2.75% increase to the state Waste Levy Fee - again collected by LG and passed on to the state government - the annoying thing about this is it doesn't even go back into waste services, it gets added to the state's coffers! 😡

I don't know about you, but I am disappointed there is no mention of any savings or even a third bin roll out, and despite tens of millions of dollars in election commitments for infrastructure (relieving us rate payers), there is still an increase!

Corinthian Park Tennis Club recently held their AGM in the new Club rooms in Shelley. It was very moving and emotional to see three new life members recognised for their dedication and selfless contributions to the Club's success over many years. 👏
