💙 Another big day of community, care and connection at Little Things for Tiny Tots

Last week more than 30 orders were packed and ready to go to our incredible partner organisations, helping provide essential baby items to more than 320 WA families across metropolitan Perth. 👶💙

From nappies and clothing to books, toys and everyday essentials, every box is about so much more than what’s inside. It’s about providing comfort, dignity and practical support to families who are doing it tough.

And we love hearing what this support means to the families receiving it.

One agency shared:
"Mummas will be very happy!" 💙

Another told us:
"The items provided will make a significant difference to the wellbeing of the babies and children we support."💙

And one single mum, living independently and relying solely on Centrelink income, was overwhelmed by the items she received. When she saw the baby supplies, she said: "I can't even afford to buy a baby bottle because it is so expensive in the shops."

These words are a powerful reminder that the items we pack and send out each week aren't just practical essentials. They can ease financial pressure, provide dignity and let a mum know that her community is behind her.

We’re incredibly grateful to work alongside organisations on the frontline, who make sure these essentials reach the babies and families who need them most.

A very special thank you to Helen and Laura for jumping in on the day to carry boxes, sort orders and keep everything moving. We couldn’t do it without you! 💙

Every donation, every volunteer hour and every partnership helps us get essential baby items into the hands of families across WA.

Together, one little box at a time, we’re making a big difference. 💙👶✨

Today, we proudly acknowledge and thank the members of Indigo Junction’s Cultural Committee for the guidance and leadership they so generously share with our organisation.

Meeting throughout the year, the committee provides invaluable insight that helps shape how we work, engage with community and deliver culturally respectful services.

Their guidance influences many areas across Indigo Junction, including our frameworks, the naming of programs and buildings, artwork, recruitment, organisational branding, and the development of projects such as Yaakiny, our soon-to-open youth supported accommodation facility, and Bindi Bindi Mia Refuge, which recently opened.

We extend our sincere thanks to John Mogridge, Jo Narrier, Lync Robson, Mona Yarran, Jon Blurton, Raylene Riley and Jo Parfitt.

We are deeply grateful for the time, knowledge and care each member contributes. Your guidance helps ensure our work remains grounded in respect, integrity and meaningful connection with community.

Indigo Junction is proud to sponsor the Significant Contribution to Youth Work Award at the 2026 WA Youth Work Awards.

The award celebrates an individual who has made a sustained and outstanding contribution to youth work in Western Australia over many years. It is aimed at experienced youth workers and whose leadership, commitment and impact have strengthened the lives of young people, influenced the sector, and helped build better outcomes for communities across WA.

Great youth work builds connection, creates opportunities and supports young people to navigate challenges and reach their potential, often alongside young people through some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

Do you know a youth worker or leaders whose dedication and impact deserve recognition? We encourage colleagues, organisations and community members to nominate someone who has made a significant contribution to young people and the profession.

Nominations deadline has been extended to tomorrow!

It takes a village to raise a baby, let’s build yours.

BabyFAST is coming to Ellenbrook! 💛

BabyFAST is a FREE 8-week program for young parents under 25 with children aged 0-3 years, bringing young parents, babies, family and community together.

It’s a place to:
- Build your village, meet other young parents and grow your support network
- Build confidence to feel empowered in your role as a parent
- Connect with your baby by enjoying activities and experiences together
- Connect across generations and involving the important people who support you and your baby
- Take some time for YOU, enjoy dedicated time to recharge while our team spends time with the little ones
- And share a meal! Lunch is provided each week

And one of the special things about BabyFAST? Young parents are part of the team, helping shape a program that understands what it’s really like to be a young parent.
