Welcome to Sunset Coast's page!

We are a progressive, locally active branch of WA Labor focused on the City of Stirling suburbs west of Mitchell Freeway, holding monthly meetings as well as local forums on key issues affecting local residents.

Our first branch meetings following the election of a Federal ALP Government. Great to have Pierre Yang MLC provide a very informative parliament report to the branch in August. Tonight, the Branch AGM determined the office bearers for another year. Also the branch sought to invite local members and branches to hold joint branch meetings and/or end of year social events in collaboration with our branch. The well anticipated raffle draw had two members smiling too! Time flies when your campaigning hard and having fun.

Had a great AGM in our Sunset Coast warm and friendly style. Thanks to Hon. Martin Pritchard MLC and Stuart Aubrey - Labor for Scarborough for giving generously of their time to join us - Stuart is working very hard to win Scarborough, and we look forward to helping him.

We had a great branch meeting during the week. It was nice to see everyone again after so long away - and with the seating shown below and the hand sanitiser by the door, we were also Covid-safe. Thanks to all who attended and participated, and look forward to seeing everyone again as meetings return to normal.

At the NBN event with Melita Markey for Stirling campaign - great to see our candidate engaging in the community, as the Liberal member is nowhere to be seen.

Merry Christmas to our members, supporters and their families. We have a lot to be proud of from 2017, and there is much to do in 2018, starting with our Coastal Forum - keep an eye out for an announcement!

Planning is underway for our forum on 'The Future of Our Coastal Environment' to be held in March, 2018 in Scarborough. This forum will provide an opportunity to develop a vision that is informed by local voices. Our branch working party will confirm forum speakers and the venue details soon.

We'll be having a combined meeting with the Balcatta branch and Stirling FECC tonight at Tuart Hill Community Centre. This is a big step forward for the northern suburbs, bringing together our common resources to fight for Stirling. Thank you to all involved in organising it!
