Our Police Legacy families came together at Chuck E. Cheese today and it was a brilliant one.
There was pizza, arcade games, the ball pit, plenty of laughs and a few photos with the big cheese himself. The kids and the big kids had a ball and even made new friends.
Days like this are what the blue family is all about. Connecting with people who understand, building friendships and making memories side by side.
Thank you to everyone who came along today. We loved sharing it with you. π

Last week our WA Police Legacy widows enjoyed a wonderful outing to Cicerelloβs in Fremantle, combining a hands on marine education experience with a delicious fish and chips lunch.
The group got up close with some of the oceanβs most fascinating creatures, holding starfish, meeting a friendly shark and even saying hello to a couple of impressive crayfish. There were plenty of smiles, a few brave hands in the water and lots of laughter shared around the table.
Outings like these are about so much more than a day out. They are about connection, friendship and making sure our legatees know they are valued and never forgotten. Thank you to the team at Cicerellos Fremantle for their warm welcome and their wonderful Marine Education program.
To everyone who came along, thank you for sharing the day with us. Moments like these are what our Police Legacy family is all about. π

π Walk to Remember π
Today, around 60 people came together on the banks of the Swan River to walk in honour of the WA Police Officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our community.
We were grateful to be joined by Western Australia Police Force Chaplain Ev Heard, whose words reminded us all of something important. It is people like you who make Legacy what it is. Showing up, stepping forward and walking together.
A candle was held to represent the light of hope that Legacy has carried for so many families over the years. That image said everything.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today. Your presence means the world to the families we support.
We will remember π

Today we honour the mothers in our WA Police Legacy family.
Those who served while raising a family. Those who held everything together at home while their partner wore the uniform. And those we have lost along the way who continue to live on in the hearts of the families we support.
Your strength, your love and your sacrifice do not go unnoticed.
Wishing all our mums a beautiful Mother's Day. π

π Riding in Honour of Constable Knibbs π
Last Sunday, members of our WA Police Legacy family jumped on their motorbikes and rode through the beautiful WA countryside on a very cold morning to Bannister River. We were there to honour Constable Thomas Knibbs, one of WA's earliest officers to make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
On 12 February 1855, Constable Knibbs was shot and killed while escorting a prisoner along the Albany to Perth road. He was just 22 years old and his wife was pregnant at the time. When he was killed, she had no one. She faced it completely alone.
That is exactly why WA Police Legacy exists today. No police family should ever have to carry that weight on their own.
To everyone who joined in on the ride we thank you.
Lest we forget. π

π 100 Years. Never Forgotten. π
On 28 April 1926, Inspector John Walsh and Sergeant Alexander Pitman were murdered while investigating a gold theft in Kalgoorlie. Their charred and dismembered bodies were discovered in a disused mine shaft on the outskirts of town. These murders shook the WA Police Force to its core and were considered the worst committed against police officers in Australia at the time, drawing worldwide attention.
Their families were left to carry an unbearable grief with little of the formal support that police families can access today. There was no Police Legacy standing beside them. No one to help them rebuild. They faced it largely alone.
WA Police Legacy was proud to attend the centenary commemoration alongside the Governor of Western Australia and the WA Police Commissioner, as well as serving officers and the descendants of both men.
We are here today because of officers like Walsh and Pitman. And we are here for every police family that comes after them, so that no one ever has to face tragedy alone again.
