Chocolate cake the order of the day @ St Lukes 🎂

We celebrated our resident Yvonne's birthday the only way we know how - with a beautiful cake of course! It was decorated with gorgeous chocolate leaves and cherries - just the way Yvonne likes it.

All aboard to Kings Park with Braemar House 🌳🌴

This month our Braemar House residents took a beautiful bus trip to Kings Park in the morning and then on to Point Walter in the afternoon.

Residents were treated to some stunning weather to enjoy while observing the sights and having a hot beverage!

Thank you to therapy assistants and carers Gem and Sangay for making this such an enjoyable trip, we are already looking forward to the next one!

Feathered friends pay visit to Villa Dalmacia 🦅

What a wonderful experience for our Villa Dalmacia residents recently.

To celebrate Australian Bird week we were lucky to welcome WA Birds of Prey for a special visit, where residents learnt all about these amazing birds and even had the opportunity to gently touch them.

We met some incredible feathered friends, including owls, a tawny frogmouth, a brown falcon and the crowd favourite, Micro the wedge-tailed eagle.

Our residents loved getting up close to these beautiful birds, learning about their unique features and hearing all about their lives. It was a truly memorable visit filled with curiosity, smiles and plenty of excitement!

A big thank you to WA Birds of Prey for sharing these magnificent creatures with us and creating such a special experience for our residents.

Bell ringers chime sweetly @ Tuia Lodge 🤩

In September, the sweet sound of bells echoed up the passage at Tuia Lodge and, you could be mistaken thinking the church bells were ringing.

After the performance some of our residents were able to hold the bells and have a ring themselves. It was agreed that it's not as easy as one might think.

There's quite an art in the flick of the wrist. We hope to see them again before Christmas.

Anyone for tennis? 🎾

Ian, one of our residents from St Lukes suggested at our recent survey that he wanted to go and play tennis. Fortunately, we're well placed to make that happen, with a great set of courts right opposite the home.

So we bought some racquets and Madi the physio and Katie the therapy carer took some residents across the road to the tennis courts.

Forks and opinions at the ready! 🍽

It was time to put our tastebuds to the test at Emerald Life as some of our residents were invited to try the new seasonal menu items.

Our residents took to the task with enthusiasm and were keen to give feedback on what were hits and misses on the new summer menu. Thanks all for their help!

Tuia's Men's Group tucks into a good feed in Bunbury 🍽

Six of our gentlemen enjoyed a bus trip into Bunbury on the September 15, and, with a little time up our sleeve, we took a drive along the back beach to take in the ocean sights and sounds.

It was such a beautiful spring day lunch that we ate alfresco on the deck overlooking the inlet, and as we arrived a couple of dolphins passed by.

Fish and chips was the most popular fare, and Peter was very happy to see wood fired pizza on the menu. On the way home a quick detour to Maccas for an ice cream cone was the perfect dessert. A great day agreed by all.

Our art blankets have been a colourful hit at McDougall Park!

Before snuggling up with the finished rugs, residents had the opportunity to get creative, adding their own splashes of colour and personality to the fabric.

The activity brought plenty of creativity and enjoyment.

Agmaroy ran a weekly Footy Tipping during the AFL season in each of our wings.

Congratulations to our winners who received first, second and third trophies and a wooden spoon for the poorest Footy Tipper.

Floor games fun @ Springhaven Lodge 💜

Throughout September, our Springhaven Lodge residents had great fun participating in a variety of floor games organised by the therapy team.

These engaging activities encouraged friendly competition, teamwork, and plenty of laughter as residents took part in different challenges tailored to suit a range of abilities and interests.

The games provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to stay active, socialise with their peers, and enjoy new experiences in a relaxed and supportive environment. It was fantastic to see so many residents getting involved and sharing in the enjoyment throughout the month.
