We’re proud to work alongside Bridge Darebin to strengthen pathways to education, employment and financial wellbeing for participants in Juno’s EMPower program who are rebuilding and recovering after experiences of homelessness and family violence.

Through our partnership, EMPower participants can connect with opportunities at the Bridge including Step Up to Work, Women’s Career Chats and Coffee, and Financial Wellbeing workshops.

These connections complement EMPower’s personalised, trauma-informed coaching, helping participants build skills and confidence while working towards their own goals across housing, wellbeing, career and education, financial capability, employment and family stability.

Our partnership is about working together to reduce barriers and make opportunities more accessible, while supporting people to build the future they want for themselves.

Thank you to the team at Bridge for being such an important part of the EMPower community! 🌟

🚨 Victoria’s homelessness services are at breaking point.

Launched yesterday, the Victorian Homelessness Network’s
'SMASHED: Homelessness Services at Breaking Point' report found that almost 70% of entry point services had to close their doors at least once during the survey periods due to capacity limits, staff shortages and critical incidents, while services were unable to answer calls on almost 60% of surveyed service days.

When the front door is under pressure, the whole system feels it. With demand already exceeding capacity across the sector, fewer people are able to get the help they need.

Victoria must invest now to keep homelessness services open, workers safe and support within reach. This must go hand in hand with more pathways to secure housing and stronger homelessness prevention and early intervention.

Poverty is not experienced equally.

During Anti-Poverty Week, we’re highlighting the reality of gendered poverty and economic insecurity experienced by women and gender diverse people across Australia.

Lower wages, insecure and part-time work, unpaid caring responsibilities and inadequate income support, coupled with the high cost of housing, make women particularly vulnerable to poverty and homelessness.

For many women, family and domestic violence can further undermine economic security, with many leaving abusive relationships with little or no money, often losing their home, belongings and savings in the process.

At Juno, we see every day how poverty, housing insecurity and family violence can intersect, making it harder for people to find safety and rebuild their lives.

Poverty should not be inevitable. We need meaningful action to address the structural causes of gendered poverty, including adequate income support, affordable housing and investment across the continuum of support, from early intervention through to recovery.

This Anti-Poverty Week, we support the calls for Australia to establish official measures of poverty and clear targets to reduce it, alongside action to end child poverty, raise the rate, and increase access to safe, affordable housing.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to live with safety, stability and dignity. 💜

We’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of KindlyGoods - whose generosity helps Juno provide timely, practical support to women, trans and gender diverse people, and children experiencing homelessness and family violence.

As a purpose-led Australian bedding brand, donates 50% of its profits to organisations supporting women and gender diverse people experiencing housing insecurity.

Their support gives us the flexibility to respond when people need it most, from emergency accommodation and essentials like food, toiletries and school supplies to support navigating the homelessness system and finding safe, long-term housing.

As GoKindly’s Co-Founders, Laura McConnell and David Conti, share:

“We're proud to partner with Juno because we believe everyone deserves the safety and dignity of a place to call home. Our community is passionate about helping others, and together we're able to turn something as simple as a better night's sleep into meaningful support that enables Juno to continue this life-changing work.”

Thank you, . Your support is invaluable. 💜

No one should ever have to choose between remaining in an unsafe home or facing homelessness.

When someone leaves violence, they deserve more than emergency accommodation. They deserve the time, support and stability to heal, and create a safer future for themselves and their children.

This means a pathway into safe, secure and suitable long-term housing and the support to rebuild their lives.

For many people Juno supports, leaving violence means leaving their home, and without safe and suitable housing available, they are often forced into homelessness.

Emergency accommodation and other short-term responses are an important part of keeping people safe, but they are not enough on their own. People need support that extends beyond the immediate crisis, helping them recover from trauma, rebuild stability and move towards greater independence.

This election, let's invest in both safety and recovery.

A huge thank you to the lovely folks at Maed By Studio in Brunswick East Village, who opened their doors for walk-in haircuts and blow-dries as a pay-what-you-feel fundraiser for Juno last month.

Thanks to the incredible team there and everyone who came along to show their support on the day, an amazing $4,310 was raised to support our work with local women, trans and gender diverse people and children experiencing homelessness and family violence.

Maed By Founder and Owner, Sonja, shared, “As hairdressers, we do what we do because we genuinely love helping people feel good about themselves. I grew up in a home where we sometimes relied on the kindness and support of others for things like food, clothing and basic necessities, so giving back and paying that kindness forward has always been really important to me.

Choosing Juno was a no-brainer. I love the work they do and the way they support people in our community when they need it most. Being able to use what we do every day to help others, even in a small way, feels incredibly special.”

How good is community? 💜

Victoria has led the nation on tackling family violence. This election, we can't afford to lose momentum.

Because of what Victoria has built, thousands of children who would have grown up in violence didn't. Now we have an opportunity to build on that progress.

We're joining Safe and Equal in calling on all political parties to commit to meaningful action to end family and gender-based violence.

Your recycling can help create safer, more stable futures 💜♻️

We’re excited to share that Juno is now part of Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme.

That means every eligible bottle, can or carton you return can help support women, trans and gender diverse people, and children rebuilding their lives after homelessness and family violence.

For every eligible container you return, you can choose to donate your 10-cent refund directly to Juno. It’s a small everyday action that can make a meaningful difference. Here’s how to get involved:

• Collect your eligible containers (look for the 10c mark)
• Return them at any CDS refund point
• Select Juno as your donation partner

Your support helps us provide practical support and advocacy to people navigating homelessness and family violence, while working towards the long-term change needed to end homelessness for good.

Writing a Will is a deeply personal act. For many of us, it starts with taking care of the people we love. For some, it can also mean leaving something behind that reflects what matters to us.

After providing for family and friends, you may choose to leave a gift to a cause that is close to your heart. 💜

A gift in your Will can help you leave a legacy of safety and stability for people rebuilding their lives after family violence and homelessness, for years to come.

There is never any expectation. We have partnered with Willed and EveryWill to offer quick and affordable online options.
