Getting our soldiers from ship to shore! 🌊⚓

Rapidly deploying our soldiers into the fight is a key function of the Littoral Manoeuvre Group in Exercise Keris Woomera 26.

Powering through the waves, Army’s LCM8 landing craft and LARC-V amphibious vehicles transported Australian and Indonesian forces onto the beach, enabling troops to push inland and conduct an objective clearance.

Behind every successful landing is the ability to move people, equipment and combat power where they're needed most.

Building the Flotilla

The Littoral Manouvre Group's 35th Water Transport Squadron recently sailed from over 240km from Townsville to the Whitsunday Islands 🚤.

Throughout the training, teams practised operating in high traffic maritime environments, building confidence in skipper and watercraft command roles, and rebuilding the flotilla capability in the squadron.

Littoral and open water manouvre is an essential to allow military forces to project power, secure vital maritime trade routes, and enforce strategies of sea denial or control throughout the region 🌊.
