The Spring Hill Neighbour Day Event will be held on Saturday the 16th of April between 10am and 11:30am at Bedford Park, corner of Love and Water Streets, Spring Hill. Last year's event was hugely successful and this year Friends of Bedford Park would like to broaden the appeal to a wider audience to include the Neighbour Day focus with Harmony Day, to be more inclusive of the multi-cultural community of Spring Hill. The concept remains the same...bring a plate of food to share, say hello to your neighbours and enjoy the simple activities provided. It is envisaged that the event will again enliven the green heart of Spring Hill and assist in building our local community spirit.

'Not For Glory' was written for the Anzac Centenary about courageous Australian women who've served as medical professionals in the Army from World War I until the present day. ‘Not for Glory’ features the story of local philanthropist (Mary) Josephine Bedford, Bedford Park’s namesake and her life partner and local doctor, Dr Lilian Cooper. Friends of Bedford Park were fortunate to have Dr Susan Neuhaus, the co-author of ‘Not for Glory’ kindly give her time while attending a Medical conference in Brisbane, to come and share her stories and insights on these incredible Australian Women. In the beautiful surrounds of Bedford Park, this intimate discussion proved to be an eye opening experience. It highlighted the slow but changing attitudes about the contribution and recognition of women in the service of their Country during times of war and conflict over the last 100 years.
