We welcome the appointment of Penny McKay as the inaugural Commissioner of the Defence and Veterans' Service Commission (DVSC). This is a historic milestone for Australia's veteran community to implement the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Su***de. Peter Tinley AM, RSL Australia National President said:
"The appointment of Penny McKay is a moment of genuine significance for every serving and ex-serving member and their family. Penny McKay has already demonstrated her commitment to this work, and the RSL looks forward to continuing to work closely with her and the Commission to drive the systemic reform our veteran community deserves."

On Tuesday we had a beautiful Anzac Ceremony at Maria Regina Catholic Primary School. It was great to have school Dads, veterans Nathan and David as the special guests! There are several ADF families in the school community. The focus was on how our Defence Force makes the world a safer place and promotes peace.

We have the most fantastic community here in Avalon.
