Think a smartwatch is just a gadget? For some, it’s a lifeline. One NDIS participant uses their NDIS-funded smartwatch to control their wheelchair, giving them the independence and mobility they deserve.

It’s a reminder that items on the NDIS 'no-go' list aren’t always luxuries – they’re often essentials that improve quality of life. Let’s advocate for real understanding of what people need, rather than making assumptions.

Planning meeting or court room? Feel like you’re on trial just for asking for funding?
Planning meetings can be psychologically unsafe places for people.
It can feel like you’re on the defense the whole time
The effects of the meeting can make it hard to sleep and leave you sick to your stomach.

It seems simple, keep people safe. But it isn't, everyone seems to have a different idea on what is safe in someone's life.

Let's focus more of our time listening to NDIS participants about what makes them safe and less time telling them.

I'll post content and share things on this page that will hopefully be interesting to people.

People should feel free to share their own thoughts or comments on the page too.

If you want to complain about an unsafe provider feel free to do so but do not make it defamatory. Keep their name anonymous but share your story so that our community can support you.
