Wishing one of our young members luck as he starts his HSC this week. Young members are very valuable to the RFS and particularly Comms as they bring with them incredible technical skills and a new perspective on how to approach tasks in a modern way. Good luck! We know you’ll do great!

Last week two of our valuable members, Steph and Liz, celebrated their 40th anniversary as members of Hornsby Comms. The contribution these ladies have made to our brigade over the years has been incredible. While the budget does stretch to a ruby mic, we send our sincerest thanks to you both for all the time and effort you have put in over thr years and the knowledge you continue to share with new members. Thank you and congratulations.

Hornsby Comms welcomed visitors today, offering a unique glimpse into its vital support for firefighting operations, while highlighting the collaborative efforts with fellow support brigades, such as Hornsby/Ku-ring-gai Support and NSW RFS Hornsby/Ku-ring-gai Catering Brigade. The day emphasised the diverse volunteer support roles available through the RFS.

Rainy weather created a great opportunity to join Muogamarra Rural Fire Brigade for some crew leader training using MDTs (mobile data terminals) and refining our CAD (computer aided dispatch) skills. Members of Berowra Rural Fire Brigade also dropped in helping us understand the use of MDTs at a fireground command and control level. Thanks for visiting neighbours!

Last weekend our Captain joined the Captain from Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Support Brigade at the 2025 Support Forum. This forum brought together support brigades from across the state and gave an opportunity to network and share ideas with other Comms Brigdes from around the state.
