Welcome to the new day.

Just letting everyone know, this is my final morning update until my return to Townsville Storms on the 1st November, unless needed earlier.

Thank you for allowing me into your early mornings over these last 6 months. I'll be turning 50 in June while in Japan, so I may post up a photo to say hi.

Huge shout out of appreciation to Narelle, Sarah and Cosimo for their continued efforts this year.

Today marks the official end of the 2025/26 Cyclone Season.

The 2026/27 Cyclone Season commences again on the 1st November.

A firm ridge of high pressure extends over the state from a slow moving high in the Tasman Sea, bringing coastal showers in the east and settled conditions inland.

The high and ridge will remain in place for the rest of this week. A trough will linger offshore of the far southern Queensland coast for the next few days, before pushing further offshore and weakening later in the weekend.
