At J&J Variety, we are always happy to work with our customers and understand that sometimes life gets busy and unexpected things happen.

However, as a small family-run hobby business, we also need to make sure we can manage our stock, storage space and business commitments.

We would like to remind all customers that purchased items need to be collected or postage arrangements finalised within a reasonable timeframe.

If items remain uncollected or postage remains unpaid for an extended period, we will make reasonable attempts to contact the customer to arrange collection or payment.

Where items remain unclaimed, J&J Variety reserves the right to follow the appropriate legal procedures under the Unclaimed Goods Act 1987 (SA).

This may include issuing formal written notice and, where legally permitted, selling or otherwise disposing of unclaimed goods.

We will always aim to give customers an opportunity to resolve the matter before taking further action.

We love supporting our local community and appreciate every person who supports our small family business. However, we also need to protect our business and ensure we can continue doing what we love.

💜💙 HOW DOES J&J VARIETY KEEP OUR PRICES SO AFFORDABLE? 💙💜

We often get asked how we can offer such affordable prices on our DTF printing, UV DTF stickers, business cards, car and fridge magnets, candles, wax melts, goat milk soaps, embroidery and other personalised products.

Today, we thought we would give everyone a little look behind the scenes at how Joshua and Jenny run our small family hobby business! 😊

🖨️ DTF PRINTING, UV DTF STICKERS, BUSINESS CARDS & MAGNETS

We design our own artwork and organise to have these products made overseas before being shipped to us here in Australia. This process usually takes around 2 weeks.

By planning ahead and sourcing these products this way, we can keep our costs down and pass those savings on to our customers.

🕯️ OUR CANDLES & WAX MELTS

We only use premium soy wax for our candles and wax melts. We make these ourselves in our home office or kitchen, putting our own time and effort into creating our products.

🧼 OUR GOAT MILK SOAP

We purchase our goat milk soap base, but we do the work ourselves, including adding our fragrances and preparing our products in our home office or kitchen.

🧵 OUR EMBROIDERY & PERSONALised ITEMS

We only buy premium embroidery thread and needles because we want to use quality supplies for our work.

Our T-shirts and jumpers come from Kmart, while many of our other blank items come from a large Australian wholesaler. We then create our own designs and personalise the items ourselves using our Brother Disney embroidery machine.

This is not a cheap piece of equipment! A new machine of this type can cost around $12,500, so we have invested in the equipment needed to create our products ourselves from our home office.

💳 NO EXTRA CARD FEES FOR OUR CUSTOMERS!

We also believe in keeping things fair and straightforward. We do not pass our credit card processing charges or other business fees on to our customers. We absorb those costs ourselves rather than adding extra charges to your purchase.

💜💙 SO, WHAT MAKES J&J VARIETY DIFFERENT?

We are a small family hobby business run by Joshua and Jenny. We do our own designing, sourcing, making and personalising, all while carefully managing our costs.

We purchase from wholesalers, plan our overseas orders, invest in quality materials and do much of the work ourselves. This helps us keep our prices affordable while offering products we are proud to put our name on.

We might be a small business, but we put a lot of time, effort, money and love into what we do. ❤️

Every product we make, every custom order we complete and every customer who supports us helps our little family business continue to grow.

💜💙 Team J&J Variety – What a Busy Weekend! 💙💜

Hi everyone! 👋

Team J&J Variety has had a very busy weekend, with a bit of everything mixed in! 😊

On Saturday, I was out working Uber Eats before Jenny and I volunteered our time to help transport all the food from CJ1 over to the oval for Bollywood Night. 🚗🍽️

We helped load the food into the car, transport it to the oval, unload everything, and then return the car to CJ1 so we could collect our own car. After all that, we finally got to head home, get dressed up and go out with our friends to enjoy the night! 💃🕺

We had a lovely time enjoying the food, dancing and atmosphere. A big thank you to everyone involved in organising Bollywood Night! ❤️ It takes a lot of time, effort and teamwork to put on such a big event, and everyone involved did a wonderful job. We really appreciate being able to help out and then enjoy the night ourselves!

Today, Jenny and I took things a little slower and had a relaxing day at home. We caught up on some cleaning and started getting on top of a few things that needed doing. I also had to fix the rear-view mirror in the Jeep after the hot weather caused it to fall down, so that needed a bit of attention and time to dry properly! 🔧🚙

Now that we've had a weekend with a mixture of hard work and relaxation, it's time to get organised for another busy week!

🍓 Our next big goal is getting ready for the Strawberry Festival this Sunday! 🍓

We have lots of homemade stock to make and plenty to get organised before the event. Alongside all that, I will still be working Uber Eats during the week, and Jenny and I are also trying to make time to get to the gym together at least three times a week. 💪❤️

We're trying our best to balance work, our little family hobby business, volunteering, exercise and making sure we get some time to relax together.

There's always something happening with Team J&J Variety, but we wouldn't have it any other way! 💜💙

Hi everyone! 👋

First of all, we’re sorry we didn’t get around to posting our thank-you message two weeks ago. I’ve been very unwell, and Jenny has been really busy helping look after all my health needs. ❤️

We had a really good day at the auction, and Jenny also had a wonderful day at the Wellbeing Day! 😊

We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who was involved in organising and supporting both the auction and the Wellbeing Day. We really appreciate all the support, kindness and help you have shown us! 💜💙

We’re now taking a little break from markets and shows until the start of November. In the meantime, we’re busy behind the scenes getting all our homemade stock ready, working on some new ideas, completing our custom orders and preparing for Christmas! 🎄🎁

Stall setup at wellness day

This is probably going to scare a few people… and some of you might even think I’ve gone completely mad or that I’m being a bloody di****ad 😂

But I’m doing something I honestly never thought I would do.

I am putting ALL of my brand-new ornaments that I originally bought to sell into an UNRESERVED AUCTION.

Yes… you read that right. UNRESERVED! 😳

I know a lot of people will be thinking, “Josh would never do that!” — but after a lot of thinking, Jenny and I have made the decision that it is time for J&J Variety to go in one direction and one direction only.

That direction is OUR HOMEMADE PRODUCTS. ❤️💙

I honestly can’t believe Jenny and I have reached this stage of our lives. I started my hobby business over 5 years ago, after already having another business before that. Altogether, I have now been in business for around 10 years.

There has been a LOT of work, learning, ups and downs, stock, markets, shows and everything else that comes with running a small business.

But now it’s time for us to make a big change.

PLEASE DON'T THINK WE ARE GIVING UP ON MARKETS OR SHOWS! ❤️💙

WE ARE NOT!

J&J Variety will still be out there doing the markets, shows and events that we love.

The only thing we are changing is what we sell.

From now on, we are moving away from selling brand-new bought-in items and second-hand items.

We are going to concentrate on our homemade products.

That means the things we make ourselves — our soaps, wax melts, candles, DTF products, embroidery, stickers and all the other homemade products we are working on.

We want J&J Variety to become known for the things we actually make ourselves, rather than trying to sell a bit of everything.

So this Saturday, 10th October, at Kadina Showground, you will find me at the auction with 3 tables — Table 16.

And when I say these tables are going to be loaded… they are going to be absolutely packed! 😂

There will be heaps of brand-new ornaments and plenty of things that could make some great Christmas presents.

And remember…

So if you have been waiting for a chance to grab some great items, DON'T MISS IT!

But there is something else happening on Saturday that is just as important to me.

Jenny will be doing her very first market completely by herself. ❤️

She has quite a lot of anxiety around doing this on her own, so I ask everyone who sees her at the market to please be patient, kind and respectful.

She will be at the Wellbeing Market in Kadina, which is only about 5 minutes from where I will be at the showground.

So while I’m over at the auction, Jenny will be running J&J Variety at her very first market by herself.

It’s a pretty bloody big day for both of us. ❤️

And there is one more thing… 👀

Jenny and I have been working on something very exciting that we are going to be adding to J&J Variety.

But we aren't quite ready to tell everyone what it is yet. 🤫

All I will say is…

There is something very exciting coming to J&J Variety, and we can't wait to share it with you when the time is right! ❤️💙

This isn't the end of J&J Variety.

It’s the start of a new chapter.

We are clearing out the old, keeping the markets and shows we love, and putting everything we have into making J&J Variety the best little homemade business we can.

So come and support us on Saturday — whether you come and grab a bargain at the auction, or go and say hello to Jenny at the Wellbeing Market.

💜💙 A LITTLE J&J VARIETY UPDATE 💙💜

As most people know, from 1 October there is no longer a card surcharge when paying by card.

I completely forgot to put a post up about this, so I wanted to let everyone know that J&J Variety has NOT been charging our customers a card surcharge since 1 October. ❤️

We have also NOT increased our prices to cover the cost of the card fees our bank charges us.

We’re happy to absorb that cost ourselves because we want our customers to continue getting the same amazing prices they have been used to. 🥰

We know a lot of other businesses have chosen to increase their prices to cover these costs, but here at J&J Variety, we don't feel it is fair to simply put our prices up and make our customers pay more because of the fees we are charged.

We want to keep our prices as affordable as we can while still providing our homemade products and everything else we offer. 💜💙

So when you shop with J&J Variety, you can continue to enjoy our same great prices — with NO card surcharge added on! 🎉

💜💙 One thing about J&J Variety that a lot of people don't get to see 💙💜

There is a side of J&J Variety that we don't normally post about or tell everyone about.

If someone is going through domestic violence, a really hard time in life, or simply needs a little bit of help, we believe in being there where we can.

For the last couple of weeks, we have been helping a single mum with 4 kids who has been doing it really tough.

We have been helping her clean up her house, move furniture around and get rid of things she no longer needs. We have also helped with some shopping and have been finding free and second-hand items that her family really needs through Facebook and other places.

When we find something she needs, we don't just leave it there. We use our own car and trailer, our own fuel and our own time to go and pick the items up and bring them to her.

We have also been helping around the house, moving things around and making the home a little more comfortable and safer for her and her kids.

Jenny has also spent time playing games and hanging out with the kids. Sometimes helping isn't just about furniture or shopping — sometimes it's about giving the kids a bit of happiness and giving Mum a little bit of a break too. ❤️

But there is something really important we want everyone to know.

We couldn't do things like this without all of you who support Team J&J Variety. 💜💙

Every customer who buys something from us, every person who comes to our stalls and shows, every person who shares our posts, recommends us to others, stops for a chat or simply supports our little family business — you are all part of this.

You might not see what happens behind the scenes, but your support helps give us the ability to turn around and help someone else when they really need it.

We might be the ones doing the running around, paying for shopping, finding free items, loading up the trailer, using our own fuel, picking things up and putting in the time to help — but without our customers and the people who support Team J&J Variety, we wouldn't be able to do things like this.

We don't do it for recognition. We don't do it so people will praise us. Most of the time, we don't even tell anyone about the people we help.

We are sharing this because we want people to see that J&J Variety is about more than just selling things at markets and shows.

We are a small family business, and we are very grateful for every single person who supports us.

We can't help everyone, and we can't fix everyone's problems. But if someone needs a little hand and we are in a position to help, we will always try. ❤️
