This week at training, our team refreshed our skills on scene safety. 🛟

Maintaining a safe scene is one of the most important parts of any response. From identifying hazards and managing risks to ensuring clear communication and coordination, these fundamentals help protect both responders and the community.

Regular training like this keeps our team sharp, confident, and ready to respond safely when it matters most in order to support our community and neighbouring units. 🧡

🌸 Happy International Women’s Day! 💜

Today we celebrate the incredible women across our organisation and the wider community who make a difference every single day. Their dedication, resilience, compassion, and leadership inspire those around them and play a vital role in strengthening the communities we serve. 🧡

From responding to emergencies and supporting communities during challenging times, to leading teams, mentoring others, and giving back through service. The contributions of women across our organisation help shape a safer, stronger Victoria. We are proud to recognise the impact they make, both on the frontline and behind the scenes.

It’s NAIDOC Week, a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At VICSES, our values of “Together we are VICSES” and “We are part of the Community” remind us that we are strongest when we are inclusive, connected, and grounded in understanding.

Being culturally aware and inclusive strengthens our ability to connect with one another, build respectful partnerships, and serve all communities with care and empathy. NAIDOC Week is a meaningful opportunity for all of us to reflect, learn and show respect for the world’s oldest living cultures.

Happy NAIDOC Week! 🖤💛❤️💙💚🖤

Kids will be back at school tomorrow after two weeks of holidays, so that means school speed zones will also be back.

Make sure you slow down when driving around schools to help keep everyone safe.

Remember, if roads outside schools are not permanent 40km/h zones, the speed limit will be reduced at drop-off and pick-up times based on the previous speed limit:
-Limits of less than 80km/h become 40km/h
-Limits of 80 km/h or more become 60km/h.

Always follow the road signs. For more information, visit the VicRoads website: https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/safety-and-road-rules/road-rules/a-to-z-of-road-rules/school-speed-zones
