Last night we joined Ballarat Fire Brigade in their Monday night training, going through a range of drills and scenarios.
Crews with members from both brigades undertook training in grass fire tactics, hand tools, dry firefighting, hazardous tree identification, burn over drills, radio communications, and teamwork.
It was a great opportunity to go through minimum skills, train on different appliances and work alongside new crews.

Thank you to Ballarat Fire Brigade for running the evening, drills and the use of your tanker, it was a great evening.

Last night we were honoured to celebrate more than 500 years of combined sevice at the Glen Park Fire Brigade Awards Function, ranging from 10-65 years. Congratulations to everyone.

4 members were also awarded CFA and Brigade Life Memberships for their exceptional, prolonged service - congratulations to

Congratulations to Ex-Captain Brian Webber who was tonight honoured with an Outstanding Service Medal - CFA’s highest award.

Brian has consistently shown a high level of committed service to the authority and Glen Park Fire Brigade for more than 40 years through responding to incidents, developing the next generation of firefighters, educating the community and continuing to advocate for the best interests of the brigade.

Brian is the epitome of the spirit of CFA and what it means to volunteer.
Congratulations Brian on receiving an Outstanding Service Medal recognising your legacy in a well functioning fire brigade who respond to those in need.

Thank you to all our phenomenal members for your incredible service and ongoing commitment to the Glen Park community.

On Sunday, several members headed to Ballan for Birch Group’s Hot Fire Training at the Central Highlands Training Ground, alongside Kingston and Creswick fire brigades. Working through 13 drills covering rescue, structure and non-structure fires, crew leadership, tanker operations and relay pumping for water supply it was a great opportunity to learn new skills and refine others. Big thanks to the instructors - Andrew and James and the Central Highlands Training Ground staff for a great day out 🔥

On behalf of the Glen Park Fire Brigade, I would just like to say thanks to the generous. Lady who sent her kids down with refreshments and snacks while we were directing traffic on Springs Road today. Unfortunately the power company had trouble accessing the wires because of soggy ground so we were there for quite some time. Great Community !

This morning many of our brigade members came together at the station to run through Entrapment/Burn-over drills on both of our appliances, the medium tanker and the ultra-light, and review Hazardous Trees procedures. 🚒

While we train year-round, as fire season approaches we revisit these critical skills to ensure our members' skills are maintained and we are prepared for the months ahead. 🔥
The day finished with a brigade BBQ, a great chance to catch up!
