This National Volunteer Week, we’re taking a moment to acknowledge the wonderful volunteers who make up the Werribee Fire Brigade.
Volunteering with the CFA goes far beyond attending fires and road crashes.
It’s our members — both operational and non-operational, who show up day in and day out to keep our Brigade running. From responding to emergencies, completing truck inventories, cleaning the station, attending community events, and making our yearly Santa Run and GFA possible - Our Brigade doesn’t stop; nor do our volunteers.

Our 2026 Firewood Fundraiser was a huge success. A sincere thank you to everyone who placed an order and supported our Road Crash Rescue team. Fundraisers such as this enable us to continue to engage in high quality training and participate in competitions and learning symposiums, bringing together knowledge from volunteers Australia wide with the main goal of improving patient care and outcomes.

Wishing our Road Crash Rescue team the best of luck as they travel to Dubbo to compete in the 2026 NSW Road Crash Rescue Challenge

Over the course of the weekend, the team will take part in a series of challenges designed to test their skills and knowledge in road crash rescue, including technical rescue, industrial and domestic rescue, and patient care.

No matter the result, we are incredibly proud of their dedication to training and continuous learning, furthering their skills for the betterment of our community 🚒

A planned controlled burn is currently taking place at the Melbourne Water Western Treatment Plant in Cocoroc.

Smoke may be visible across Wyndham this afternoon.

There is currently no threat to the community. However, if you see flames or believe life or property is at risk, please call 000 immediately.

The brigade would like to thank all outgoing officers and delegates for their dedication, service and contribution. We also congratulate the newly elected members and wish them every success in their roles over the coming term.

The Fire Danger Period has ended in Wyndham but are you aware of the restrictions around fire?
✅️ Cooking on a constructed barbecue, grill or pizza oven.
✅️ Fire for heating in a portable fire pit, brazier or chiminea.
❌️ Fire on a day of Total Fire Ban.
❌️ Burn anything other then plant matter.
❌️ Burn to get rid of material without a permit.
❌️ Cause a nuisance or health hazard to any person.

Each year the Werribee Fire Briagde attends numerous incidents where people are not following the rules. They are in place to keep you and others safe. Penalties could apply. For more information see the Wyndham City Council website.
