Light House organized National-level media advocacy to address “Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence” that was held at the conference room of the Economic Reporters’ Forum in the capital. The chief guest at the event was State Minister for Social Welfare Barrister Farzana Sharmin, MP. Special guests included Dr. Mohammad Zakaria, Director General (Secretary) of the NGO Affairs Bureau under the Prime Minister’s Office; Shaila Sharmin Zaman, Director General (Additional Secretary) of the Department of Women Affairs; and Rasheda K. Chowdhury, former adviser and executive director of Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE). The session was chaired by Shah Mohammad Mahbub, Director General (Additional Secretary) of the Department of Social Services. Speakers stressed that coordinated initiatives, responsible media roles, and effective policy measures are now essential to prevent the misuse of digital technology.

At the Nagarikata event, we had the opportunity to stand together with our valued partners and representatives from the European Union to discuss voices, rights, inclusion, and the power of collective action. From inspiring conversations to shared commitments for a more inclusive and empowered society, every moment reminded us that real impact happens when communities, organizations, and global partners work hand in hand.

On 3rd May 2026, at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, the Nagarikata event brought together voices, ideas, and experiences that reminded us why dialogue matters. From powerful discussions to meaningful connections, every moment carried one shared message, change becomes possible when people come together with purpose.

মা কখনো নিজের জন্য কিছু চায়নি।
না দামি উপহার,
না আলাদা সম্মান,
এমনকি একটা “ধন্যবাদ”ও না।

তবুও জীবনের সবটুকু দিয়ে গেছে আমাদের জন্য।

আমাদের অসুস্থ রাতগুলোতে তার নির্ঘুম চোখ,
পরীক্ষার আগে চুপচাপ করা দোয়া,
নিজের কষ্ট লুকিয়ে আমাদের হাসি দেখার চেষ্টা,
এসব ছোট ছোট ত্যাগগুলো বড় হয়ে বুঝতে শিখি।

একসময় বুঝি,
“বাড়ি” আসলে কোনো জায়গা না…
বাড়ি মানে মা।

আজ শুধু Mother’s Day না,
আজ সেই মানুষটার প্রতি ভালোবাসা আর কৃতজ্ঞতা জানানোর দিন,
যিনি আমাদের পৃথিবীতে আসার আগেই ভালোবাসতে শুরু করেছিলেন।

যাদের মা পাশে আছেন, আজ একটু বেশি সময় দিন।
দূরে থাকলে একটা ফোন করুন।
আর যাদের মা আর নেই, তাদের জন্য রইলো দোয়া ও ভালোবাসা।

শুভ মাতৃ দিবস ,

একটা সময় ছিল, গ্রামের রহিম চাচা জমি নিয়ে বিরোধে জড়িয়ে সব হারাতে বসেছিলেন। টাকার অভাবে আদালতে যেতে পারেননি, ন্যায়বিচার যেন দূরের স্বপ্ন। ঠিক তখনই তিনি জানলেন সরকারি আইন সহায়তার কথা। কোনো খরচ ছাড়াই তিনি পেলেন পরামর্শ, পেলেন আইনজীবী, আর সবচেয়ে বড় কথা, পেলেন আশার আলো।

আজ রহিম চাচার মতো হাজারো মানুষের গল্প বদলে যাচ্ছে। কারণ ন্যায়বিচার শুধু সামর্থ্যবানদের জন্য নয়, এটা সবার অধিকার।

জাতীয় আইন সহায়তা দিবস ২০২৬ আমাদের মনে করিয়ে দেয়,
“সরকারি খরচে বিরোধ শেষ,
সবার আগে বাংলাদেশ”

আসুন, আমরা জানি, জানাই, এবং পাশে দাঁড়াই
যেন কেউ আর শুধু টাকার অভাবে ন্যায়বিচার থেকে বঞ্চিত না হয়।
