Awareness Program held to protect against Sound Pollution

On 26 December 2024, UTSA, under the HEART Project in association with Diakonia, successfully organized a vibrant event at Zela Shilpakala Academy, Chattogram, to raise awareness about noise pollution. The program aimed to engage the community in promoting a peaceful and noise-free environment.

Key Activities and Achievements:
📢 Silent Rally: Participants marched in unity, spreading the message of reducing noise pollution and its harmful effects.
🥋 Karate Display: A spectacular demonstration that showcased discipline, strength, and the importance of balance, resonating with the event's theme of harmony.
🎨 Art & Speech Competitions: Young participants expressed their thoughts and creativity, highlighting the significance of combating noise pollution through inspiring artworks and speeches.
🗣️ Discussion Session: The meeting was enriched by the presence of Mr Aliur Rahman, a journalist and environmental activist, and Mr Mostafa Kamal Jatra, Executive Director of UTSA. Both shared valuable insights on noise pollution's impact and the need for collective action to create a more peaceful society.
🎭 Theatre Show: The event concluded with a powerful theatrical performance that creatively depicted the consequences of noise pollution and the need for collective action.

This event brought together community members, youth, and activists to create awareness and inspire action towards building a serene and noise-free society.

UTSA, with support from Diakonia, remains committed to fostering social change through impactful initiatives like this. Together, let’s continue to promote peace and sustainability!

🏆 **Inter-School Girls’ Friendly Football Match Held by UTSA** ⚽

In celebration of the `International Day for the Prevention of Violence Against Women', Unite Theatre for Social Action (UTSA), in partnership with Diakonia under the HEART project, organized an exciting inter-school friendly football match at the Firozshah City Corporation Girls' High School ground today.

The match aimed to inspire and develop girls' skills in sports like football, cricket, and volleyball. In a thrilling game, Firozshah City Corporation Girls' High School triumphed over Haji Abdul Ali City Corporation High School with a scoreline of 4-0. The intense competition, refereed by Tasfia Akhtar of the Chattogram Referee Association, was enjoyed by over 500 students, teachers, and spectators.

During the award ceremony, distinguished guests, including Saiful Islam, head teacher of Firozshah City Corporation Girls' High School, Jasim Uddin, head teacher of Haji Abdul Ali City Corporation High School, Salma Jahan Mili, Convener of the Women’s Communication Center, and development worker Shirin Mustafa, praised the players for their incredible performance. They emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities for girls, highlighting how sports can empower them to overcome challenges and shape a brighter future.

The program, conducted by UTSA’s Program Officer Ripa Palit and Program Coordinator Muhammad Shah Alam, concluded with medals and trophies presented to all players. UTSA remains committed to empowering young girls through sports, promoting equality, and building resilience. 🎖️
