The orientation and onboarding session for the allies was on 17th June 2022 and we wanted to celebrate our 3rd anniversary by introducing these awesome team of young people working with us~ ✨

According to a recent survey, infrastructural issues increase the likelihood of sexual harassment and violence. While bathing in open locations, adolescent girls and young women in urban slum regions feel unsafe.

In Dhaka, about 68.6% of the polled girls experienced violence while using the restroom at various times. According to the poll, 79.2% of respondents said they had experienced verbal abuse, while 13.4% said they had experienced sexual harassment.

The lack of safe bathing areas, according to PSTC's Shiropa Kulsum, has an influence on the lives of adolescent girls and young women. The challenge is incredible, especially around menstruation, she noted.

TW: According to a survey jointly conducted by the Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) and INCIDIN Bangladesh, a significantly high percentage of children – 95.8% – are abused in various ways at home than in their educational institutions and workplaces.

Most of the child abuse instances are carried out by their parents and guardians. 55 percent of the children reported their families are sexually harassing them.

Furthermore, 82 percent of children in educational facilities are molested. Physical violence affects 82 percent of victims, while sexual harassment affects 24.1 percent. In addition, 55.3 percent of children are victims of workplace violence.

মানবাধিকার দিবস ২০২১

মানবাধিকার বলতে মূলত বুঝি মানুষের আচরণের নির্দিষ্ট মানদণ্ডের জন্য নৈতিক নীতি বা নিয়ম যা পৌর ও আন্তর্জাতিক আইনে নিয়মিত সুরক্ষিত।

সারা বিশ্ব জুড়ে প্রত্যেককে মৌলিক মানবাধিকার দেওয়া হচ্ছে এবং তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্যই আমরা এই দিবসটি পালন করে থাকি।
আমাদের প্রচেষ্টা চালিয়ে যেতে, তা স্মরণ করার একটি উপায় হিসাবে এই ঘোষণাটি সেই অধিকারগুলির নির্দেশিকা দেয় যা সারা বিশ্বে প্রতিটি ব্যক্তিকে দেওয়া উচিত৷

সমতট মুক্ত স্কাউট গ্রুপ তাদের স্বাধীনতার সুবর্ণজয়ন্তী উপলক্ষে গৃহীত "এবং পঞ্চাশ..." এর অংশ হিসেবে আগামীকাল মানবাধিকার দিবসকে কেন্দ্র করে একটি বিশেষ আয়োজন,"অধিকার; তোমার আমার" এর আয়োজন করছে। যার মাধ্যমে আমরা নিজেদের মধ্যে মানবাধিকার সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত ধারণা ও সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করতে পারবো বলে আশাবাদী।

Women's rights activists have observed 25 November as a day against gender-based violence since 1981. This day kicks off 16 days of activism, which ends on December 10th, Human Rights Day. It aims to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world, calling for global action to increase awareness, promote advocacy, and create opportunities for discussion on challenges and solutions.

Many women and girls who experience violent acts against them do not seek help. Even though 144 countries have laws about domestic violence, they are not always enforced. Along with creating awareness, this day seeks to remove the silence, stigma, and shame surrounding these acts of violence against women.

নারী অধিকার কর্মীরা ১৯৮১ সাল থেকে ২৫ নভেম্বরকে লিঙ্গ-ভিত্তিক সহিংসতার বিরুদ্ধে একটি দিন হিসাবে পালন করে। এই দিনটি ১৬ দিনের সক্রিয়তা শুরু করে, যা ১০ই ডিসেম্বর মানবাধিকার দিবসে শেষ হয়। এটির লক্ষ্য বিশ্বব্যাপী নারী ও মেয়েদের বিরুদ্ধে সহিংসতা প্রতিরোধ ও নির্মূল করা, সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি, অ্যাডভোকেসি প্রচার এবং চ্যালেঞ্জ ও সমাধান নিয়ে আলোচনার সুযোগ তৈরি করার জন্য বিশ্বব্যাপী পদক্ষেপের আহ্বান জানানো।

অনেক নারী এবং মেয়ে যারা তাদের বিরুদ্ধে সহিংস কর্মকাণ্ডের সম্মুখীন হয় তারা প্রায় সময়ই সাহায্য চেয়ে থাকে না। যদিও ১৪৪টি দেশে গার্হস্থ্য সহিংসতা সম্পর্কিত আইন রয়েছে, তবে সেগুলি সর্বদা প্রয়োগ করা হয় না। সচেতনতা সৃষ্টির পাশাপাশি, এই দিনটি নারীর প্রতি সহিংসতার চারপাশে নীরবতা, কলঙ্ক এবং লজ্জা অপসারণ করতে চায়।
