Philippine Ambassador Nina P. Cainglet meets His Eminence Pablo Virgilio Siongco Cardinal David

Dhaka, 02–03 May 2026 – Ambassador Nina P. Cainglet meets His Eminence Pablo Virgilio Siongco Cardinal David during his visit to Bangladesh from 02 to 03 May 2026, including in a dinner hosted by His Excellency Archbishop Kevin S. Randall, Apostolic Nuncio In Bangladesh. Cardinal David also celebrated the Catholic Holy Mass at the Holy Rosary church in Tejgaon on 03 May 2026.

Cardinal David’s visit brings together bishops, clergy, religious, and lay leaders from across Bangladesh in a gathering that highlighted dialogue and pastoral cooperation. END.

Philippine Ambassador Nina P. Cainglet welcomes new Country Representative of MSF Bangladesh

13 May 2026 – On 13 May 2026, Her Excellency Nina P. Cainglet, Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh, welcomed Mr. Elko Brummelman, the new Country Representative of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Bangladesh.

Mr. Brummelman shared information on MSF’s medical and humanitarian activities in Bangladesh, including its work in the camps, with vulnerable groups, and coordination with other humanitarian actors.

Ambassador Cainglet expressed appreciation for MSF’s briefing and reaffirmed the value of information-sharing with international and local partners engaged in humanitarian work. END.

Philippine Embassy Promotes Filipino Community Spirit during the PSB Bowling Tournament

The Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh participated in the Philippine Society in Bangladesh (PSB) Bowling Tournament held on 01 May 2026 at Jamuna Future Park, fielding its own team in a friendly display of sportsmanship and community spirit.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Nina P. Cainglet commended the participants for their enthusiasm and camaraderie, and encouraged them to continue strengthening the bonds of the Filipino community, especially as they serve as the role models for the second generation Filipino-Bangladeshis.

The Ambassador also underscored the Embassy’s continued support for activities that bring Filipinos together in order to foster unity, friendship, and healthier lifestyles among the community.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Ambassador Cainglet awarded the winners and congratulated all participants for making the event a meaningful and memorable celebration of Filipino teamwork and fellowship. END

PH Ambassador Welcomes Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Audit Team

Her Excellency Ambassador Nina P. Cainglet welcomed the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Audit Team during its courtesy call on 30 April 2026. The team was in Bangladesh to visit several pharmaceutical companies, which were applying for accreditation with the Philippine government.

Ambassador Cainglet underscored the value of exploring opportunities for stronger linkages with Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical sector.

The visit reflects the Embassy’s continuing efforts to advance Philippines-Bangladesh cooperation in priority areas to support public health and economic partnership. END
